I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

CnBadger To get a good seat i would get there super early. We went an hour early when my husband graduated and it was already pretty much full. I think unless they are a grad-n-go they get the whole weekend with family.. but i could be wrong.. my husband had the whole weekend before leaving for SC.

Hi Ladies! I am new to this group! My husband is in boot camp and graduates next month! Woo Who! Then off to A School in Great Lakes! Do any of you ladies know if the Sailors A school is in Great Lakes do they get the whole weekend with family? Also, How easy is it to get on base and get a good seat? I am bringing my two young girls to see their dad graduate so i am trying to be prepared. Any suggestions?

I'd be happy to add you as a friend and discuss in private.

No, he never grew up. I was penpals with his young cousin, and we stayed in touch. His aunt sends cards to my current hubby! She likes him better than her own nephew. So I hear about the ex now and then. He finally got a good job in electronics, but has never sent his mother a single dime after he drove her into debt. She has had a couple heart attacks, and still lives with her elderly parents, still works two jobs. He won't help her. He doesn't even have a girlfriend. He's the jolly buddy everyone likes to hang around with, but once you get to know him one on one, he isn't a nice person.

Anti M thanks for your help. If you don't mind I could send you a friend request and give you more specific details. I couldn't help but laugh at your description of your first husband. At least you cut your losses and moved on to better things. Wonder if he ever found someone to "support him" or did he finally grow up?

West coast is a good bet to be together. The more commands there are, the more choices the Navy has for sending him to be near her. I understand the urgency, but without knowing them, I can't really advise one way or the other. Getting a coast isn't all that difficult, unless the timing is bad (no open billets). This is a tough call!

First guy was a jerk. Nice as pie when dating, liked everything I did, found me fascinating. Got married, everythign changed, he wanted a houseslave. He wanted me to support him so he could "work on his music". And he didn't want to share a bedroom! Told me that little gem after we'd been married a year. One of the last straws for me.

Anti M she is on the West coast. Yeah sounds that the first one was a jerk. They met in A school so have been dating a few months-actually they have been dating longer than me and my husband did before we got married and we have been married 30 years. I am sure that they feel some sort of urgency to insure that they are able to see each other and that might be the way to go. I don't want them to get their hopes up that being married will definitely make a difference in where they are stationed.

Denise: it must be on a chain of its own.

Matt's mom: If they marry now, he may be able to get orders to where she is going. Do you feel comfortable saying the general location? East coast? West coast? But no, there are no guarantees whatsoever.

I did marry my A school/C school BF. Your emotions tend to run high when you think you'll never see each other again. What a disaster; we divorced in under two years. Would have been faster if I hadn't been overseas and if he hadn't been a creep about it. Said he's stay married to me all my life so I'd be miserable. Nice guy, huh? His command set him straight. I can see both veiwpoints, don't rush it and wait, it will happen when you're ready. My second marriage came after we both had been through one marriage and were stationed far apart. We made the effort to be together, taking leave and traveling; technically only dated briefly. it was just right! The first two years we saw each other 28 days total. Now we've been married 23 years. Sometimes it is worth the wait.
