I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

I am hoping he will mail me his LES from the 15th. We've only received 2 checks and I've only seen one LES so I'm not sure yet what to argue or not argue. I want to have all my ducks in a row before I say my piece.
I spoke to PAO yesterday and he will be in P'cola by the 1st week of March.
Maybe we will have a better open line of communication by then.

LOL reading that thing is like Egyptian Hieroglyphics! He was only inactive 6 days out of the month so yes it would be prorated to some degree but not that much. Ahhh did not realize they paid it out on 2 checks for some reason I was thinking your last check of the moth had your entire BAH. This could explain some things. I had contacted his recruiter but of course his answer was "write your recruit and he will have to follow his COC"
Since it wasn't a major crisis, I just decided to wait. I work and our finances will keep till he gets through BS21 next week. Thank you Lisa!

I was really not going to worry about this until Rick got to A school, but since you ladies are here maybe you can help? Our zip codes BAH is 1152 and according to the LES that is what they assess our housing to cost... but they only paid out $716? I was thinking maybe because he was in boot camp?
Comment by Anti M on February 17, 2010 at 10:38am
BAH is based on the zip code where the dependent spouse resides, not the location of the duty station.

Rod's wife~ he sent me the check stub and it said our housing assessment was based on the zip code of XXXXX which is where we live now? confused...
Wow, did you get moved already?
Comment by RicksWifeAmber on February 16, 2010 at 10:14pm
Confused~ just a little input on the BAH... my husband is currently in GL @ BC and we did redeive BAH on the first check but it was @ a much lower rate than what the government had allowed for our area. However, we didn't get a check for the first month.
Comment by Anti M on February 16, 2010 at 5:02pm
Confused, he won't get family separation allowance if he is in a training status (boot camp and A school/C school). That's for deployments and geographical bachelors where families can't go.

Here's the pay chart:

http://www.navycs.com/2010-military-pay-chart.html

Remember, base pay is taxable, and there may be deductions at first for uniforms and such. Takes about a month or so to see the first pay. After that, payday is the business day on or before the 15th and the 1st.

BAH takes about eight weeks or so to kick in and show up in the paycheck. You will get backpay on housing from the day he swore in. BAH is by geographical area and paygrade.

Welcome Tiffany. Im new to this too. Hes not my husband but one day will be lol. My bf is in boot camp at the moment and everyhting is pretty tough to deal with. N4M is a great place to talk about things with people that really understand what your going through. Most of the women on here have either gone through it or are going through it and it has helped me alot to meet people and be able to talk about everything.
