Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Bronco14, oh I'm sorry I thought he wanted it in A school. We didn't have any problems at the first command. His car was in his father's name and listed as a driver. My car was in my name. I see what you're saying now, so listed as a driver should be fine. We were only married for 2 months to going to his first command, so of course insurance was still in our parents name. We were still under their policy.

My son and his wife recently drove "her" car to his first permanent duty station. The car is in her father's name, but it is insured under her name with him as a driver. The Navy was OK with that. They did get a notarized letter from her father stating that they had permission to drive the vehicle. Not so much because the Navy required it, but in case they were stopped or had an accident since it would be in a different state than the registration. They drove from Atlanta to WA state. They keep that letter in the glove box as well.

Oh, I thought you had a problem that you wanted to drive your car to your husband's first command, but it had to be in his name? My sailor is finishing up Corpsman A school, not going to it :) My fiance and I were planning on taking my car (we'll be married by the time we leave San Antonio) to his next command. But he needs insurance, which he hasn't had since joining the Navy. I can put him under my parent's policy with me, but the car is not registered in his name. He was told that he won't need to show registration, just the insurance and his drivers license. Sorry if I am a bit confusing :)

Bronco14, oh no we never had a problem with our cars. When, we got to our first duty station we provided the necessary paperwork for both vehicles and that was it. We got the stickers. I think after the first couple of years they did away with them. But we never had a problem, thank God! That's why I don't understand why they're making the process so hard for you guys. They accepted our vehicles. What about you guys getting your own policy? When, we first got married of course we were still under our parents, but I don't know how it works since he wants to have the car at A school. I see and I feel for you because you guys have bigger stuff to worry about. It will work out!

It's weird to me that they wouldn't accept a vehicle registered in your name NavyWife2011, since you two are married. You would think that would be acceptable haha. We're going to Lejeune. Not sure about the sticker policy there? I am pretty sure we could get him on our insurance... I am still insured under my parent's policy... does the insurance have to be primarily in his name or could he be under someone's? This is such a pain...

The AF base near us went to just ID too. However, now and then the security threat level goes up and they do random vehicle checks, which includes R&I. I have a friend give me a ride to base who was very casual about her car's paperwork. Sigh, it was not a great day.

They did away with stickers in Pensacola, Norfolk, and Jacksonville, FL. I'm not sure where you're going though. I've never been asked for registration or insurance other than when we first got to our new duty station. Now, it's just ID depending on where you are. We're Navy!
