For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Jackie. Yes as long as it's a power of attorney and its notorized you are fine. I have two. One from the military web site and I have one through the state of Wisconsin

If my husband and I get power of attorney established and have it notarized will it be recognized or does it have to be done through the legal department on base?

Kelsie, any time my husband has had to take care of something during class time he had just asked his instructor. Usually there are times where the class is going to get out early anyway (like on test days) or when there is planned study time but no instruction that he'll be able to take care of what he needs to. He just needs to communicate with his instructors and chain of command. Unless they are just jerks, they understand and will work with the guys to come to some solution that will allow your husband to get what he needs taken care of and not put him behind in his class. They know what is required of the Sailors as far as phasing up and completing other paperwork so as long as youryour husband is open in letting his instructors know what he needs they will work with him.

My husband is in A school in phase 1 currently and he got classed up after being there only a week but now he thinks he's going to get in trouble because he has something he needed to do but they only allow them to do it during the days/times he has class. He's afraid he's not going to be able to phase up until his class is over because he won't be able to get that done (no idea what it is, I try not to ask specifics because I don't know what he's allowed to tell me). Has anyone else had something like this happen? Did your husband/bf/son get in trouble? Anything helps!

EM is pretty long so he should at least ask. I looked, married sailors can have their spouse be their liberty buddy. I hope that helps!

Anti M, I don't think he will be granted live ashore. He's going in as an EM so his school isn't long enough to be granted that.
