My son was pulled from class and not told anything except there is an issue with security.  That should have all been cleared in DEP and prior to completing boot camp correct?  No one will tell him anything yet.  There are no issues.  None.  So he is very frustrated.  Any one else have heard or know of this happening?

I have not had this happen, but the process of security clearance being granted is, from my understanding, not generally completed until well into school. My husband's wasn't wrapped up until shortly before he got to his boat. It can also be investigated or revoked at any time if something suspicious comes up. We have heard of at least one person who lost his clearance because his finances were a mess and he wasn't making payments on his debt- therefore he was a liability.

thanks to both of you.  he has no debt nor any meds, arrests, etc.  that has not ever happened.  we will just wait and see.  he was so enthusiastic and ready to learn and now to be put on hold is awful.  hopefully sooner rather than later this will be resolved.

thanks ladies!

My hubs and a few others he graduated with were pulled the first day of class. He was in tpu for a lil over a month before they said he could go back to class. He doesn't officially have his clearance yet, but guess whatever the current hiccup was, its straight for now. Think one thing that may have helped was that he was in the office every Monday inquiring as to any change in the system (like if it said yet "why" he was on hold...we still don't know actually).
Tell him to just keep his spirits up & have patience. And keep busy! Hubs was going stir-crazy cause all they did in tpu was clean pretty much, but he found volunteer stuff he could do via mwr (i think?) And was also approached by higher ups to work some events on base.

Thanks Kiki,  we found out what the issue is and he is getting it cleared up.  had a ticket,  paid it but didn't go to court, a minor thing to clear up and he gets a trip home to do it.  He was cleaning a lot also in TPU,  now doing watches and showing the new/other guys how.  Keeping busy for sure.  I appreciate the insights.

Great that he found out what it was. We still don't know what held up my hubs clearance. TPU is a LOT of cleaning, lol! Make sure he has his qual papers with him when he goes to class up (and as much done as possible, some of the watches he won't be able to do until he has proper clearance). Hubs had most of his done, but accidentally left his papers with me when he was on leave. He was to head to class day after he got back and it was kinda frowned on that he didn't have him. So had to overnight them. fun fun fun ,lol But alls good now!
