Mama Jill, I may just have to send some of those cupcakes to my son-they do sound heavenly!!!  Kristen is delivering a large chocolate chip cookie next thursday-it's his one year anniversary of swearing in.  :)

NavyMomCindy - Annette is correct. There are some who do BESS last - but that is not usual. My son has just finished BESS and ATT.

If they are going to Groton, they usually go the day after PIR, bused down to the airport at "zero dark thirty hours". BESS is first, Basic Enlisted Submarine School. Your son may have other schools as well, depending on his rate, before A school. Mine did BESS, ATT, TCNO and now is in A school for sonar tech. After that he will finally go to the fleet. He has been in Groton since August 3, 2013.

Welcome!

Maybe you all can help a little my son has PIR 4/25. Then he will go to sub school or A school? And do they leave for sub school immediately or is there usually a hold...Thanks!

That bacon/almond brittle looked absolutely fabulous!!  Was thinking of ordering it for myself but it would be a pretty hefty delivery fee!!  :)

Corfrank, I can tell you that it is what Kristen's awesome hubby (my nephew is married to the equally awesome Kristen) wanted for his birthday! So I am certain it is tasty. She also made a giant cupcake for someone with maple frosting and candied bacon on it!
