Tanya, that is really great about chris passing his test. I know you can not wait for next Friday. Rob called last night he will not be getting leave for Thanksgiving after all, he has duty on Friday. So we won't see him till Christmas. Does anyone know what they do for the guys who can not get home for the holidays? This will be the first holiday that we have not all been together so i hope I make it thru without too many tears as know that there will be many more that we will not be able to share, just part of being in the Navy. Hope you all have a very happy trick or treat.

Hi Wanda, My son Robert had PIR this past Friday 10/10. He left for Groton on Sunday, so we had Friday and Saturday with him. If you are driving to GL and your son does leave on Sunday you can meet him at Ohara Airport and spend time there with him also. Rob had to leave the base by bus a 0800 but his plane did not leave till 1pm. We couldn't go out to the airport though as we had to return the rental car by noon by GL. But we talked on the phone most of the day till his plane left. Do enjoy PIR it is the most exciting experiaance that you will have. It is great to share this with your child.
