Cheri.....I understand and agree with you is not much to do in Groton and I like to go around. Also I know what you mean missing your sailor. I still so sad that I left mine again. Is so hard to let them go and the funny thing is we did it with our parents and now we understand what they went through.
Ashley.... Glad to hear that everything is ok with you. Like we said is not much to do around the area. We used to live in MA so when I go there I pick my sailor and go to MA or RI (we have friends that live there too) so we know the Rhode Island and MA area pretty well. My suggestion, buy a GP (one of the best thing invented) and go around. Good luck!
Hello Everyone:) Haven't been on here in a while. We moved here to Groton on the 11th of June. It was a crazy trip! My car quit working to 3 days after we were supposed to be here we bought a new car. Then the way here we ran into bad storms and had to pull over for the night. I'm not the one to drive long distances after that trip. But were here and safe and things are going great!
Robert classed up into ATT on Tuesday and is getting ahead. And now that I'm here I'm realizing theres not much to do. We went and bought Six Flags season passes just to get away.
Hope everybody is doing great:)
NDG....thanks for sharing!!!
Cheri and Raedez....Funny how we have different opinions. I'm been in Groton twice. First in March (cold) now during the 4th of July (hot) and for my is kind of boring, just the way I like it. Unless you like to go party or casinos (enormous casino, mohagan (sp?) stores close early. For my good taste is very quiet. LOL I love it there, people so willing to help. I agree with small town, look like they know each other.
I have a nice time with my sailor, got to spend 4 days. Third time staying in Navy Lodge and as long as I can take advantage I will go back. We didn't stop going around, eating....didn't went to Subfest he said just a small carnival and he prefer to go to another place. Now two more months and graduation. We decide not to go and just way until he get here. Can't afford it, he want to go on a mini vacation (Orlando) went he come homeHi Everyone,
A friend of mine just shared this link with me. I don't think I have seen this particular video before. It's awesome…but get out your hankies!!
Enjoy
CANNING JARS ANYONE? I have sent cakes in a jar to my sailor and he wants to get rid of the jars. They are actually expensive canning jars and I reallyhate to see him just throw them away, sooooo….. if any of you are going to be in the area with a car fairly soon, send me a message and I will give you contact info for my son.
Emzee, I agree with Cheri about the moving. Although for me, being that this is my son's first time being away from home, the eight weeks seemed rather long, but not long enough to warrant a move. I will try and get more information, but I think that they will be in school until sometime around November. If my information is correct, he is in his second school since basic, but has not yet started 'A' school.

I had a great time with my son over July 4th! Subfest was just a small carnival. The fireworks were spectacular. We went to Ocean Beach Park which is over rated. The water is freezing but the tidal pools & rocks to climb are fun! Mystic Seaport was just as I remember. Providence Mall was fun & the city is very pretty. It was great to spend time with my son. The galley had decent food for breakfast for $2.30! I'm happy my son is in a nice place & working hard on his career with the Navy!
