Hi ladies!!
How is everyone doing? I hope you all have been in touch with your sailors lately.
Thelma, I didn't know about the FB page! I have sent you a request!!
Take care!
Hi Jaxgranny! Welcome! My son has been in Guam for 2 years and is home visiting for the holiday! He is IT (computers) and is attached to the USS Frank Cable. We would all agree it is very far from home. I'm in Phoenix AZ.
Snowy and cold here in the Midwest-but it is December isn't it! My sailor says he is missing the cold, but I have a sneaking suspicion if he were here he would be longing for warm weather. I am hoping he gets his package by Christmas- I sent it Monday and as of Friday it had not left the US by the tracking.Charlotte- enjoy your time with your son, and Welcome to lovemyspurs!
Hi ladies! My sailor arrived home, in Phoenix, this morning. He will be home for 3 weeks! He is exhausted from his travel but managed to make it to a family get together! I hope you all are doing okay through the holidays so far without your sailors.
Welcome lovemyspurs!
Hi Ladies! My son Zac graduated from Nuke prototype in September and joined the USS Chicago in October so we are all still getting adjusted to this whole thing! From reading many of the previous posts it looks like I've found a wealth of information (and potential friends) to help me navigate through these waters! Haven't sent my first care package yet, but shipped some gifts and goodies to his fiance who will be flying there next weekend for two weeks (the big lucky!). she will be able to tuck it into her luggage and spare the perils of shipping. But down the road I totally see myself sending brownies, etc in a jar following the excellent advice from my fellow "Guam Moms" (has a nice ring to it!) BTW we are from San Antonio Texas
Proudmomof2, you explained my feelings perfectly. No one can understand the emptiness. We know they are safe and ok but there is still an ache. That's why I love to have groups to go and talk to who are in the same situation!
How exciting that a view of you ladies found our your sons have the same rate and a different page to follow! I follow the Frank Cable page and have caught a few pictures of my sailor!
Proudmomof2- My son is an EOD tech in Guam and they do have their own Facebook page, EOD mobile unit 5, just google it and you will find it. They post pictures all the time. My husband and I see our son quite often.
Jakesmom, My son has been in Guam for 2 years. He is IT, works on the computers. He is assigned to the USS Frank Cable. There is a lot to do on that little island! I am glad your son and husband get to see each other but I would be soooo jealous too! ;)
I'm lucky and my sailor will be home next week for a 3 week leave!
