Trying to find out if my son's cell phone will work in Guam.  He has Verizon.  Anyone have any advice?

Thank you so much!

My son has been stationed in Guam since March of this year.  So far, so good for him.  As Charlotte's sailor does, my son plays alot of golf and goes scuba diving a bunch.  Generally he likes cold weather and mountains, but is finding that there are things to appreciate about a tropical island as well.

Hey Guam Moms!!! How is everyone doing? My Navy bunch are enjoying their new station (Cali). Most of the ones that were in Guam with my daughter and son-n-law have gone now to new locations. I still want to keep in touch with the Guam Navy Moms.

My son just received his next set of orders......he leaves Guam in March & then off to Hawaii.. Happy for him, not so much for me:( Just wish he was going to be on the mainland. This year has not been a good one for us & I"m being selfish & want him closer. In March he got extremely ill & almost didn't make it. The Navy sent me to Guam to be by his side for almost 2 wks. Although he has recovered & is doing well, I'm still trying to get over everything. I guess I just need some time.....

Thanks for answering me, Charlotte.

My son's rate is MM.  This will be his first assignment.  He does not play golf, but maybe he will start!  He has previously been scuba diving, and had been certified, but I think it is possible that his certification has expired.  I think he would really enjoy doing that again.

It actually sounds pretty nice.  I hope we can get to visit at some point.

My son has been in Guam since Dec. He enjoys it. He hates the humid weather since he comes from the dry desert! He likes to golf and he is scuba diving certified, which he really enjoys. What is your sons rate? Mine is IT. He was recently flown to Portland Oregon and jumped on the USS Frank Cable  and they are currently sailing back to Guam.

I just found out my son will be going to Guam. Can anyone tell me a little bit about their child's experiences there? We have been spoiled so far, as for the last year he was only three hours away. Now it is time to pay the piper, I guess. Any words of encouragement and/or advice will be appreciated! Has anyone visited?

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!  Does anyone know if the Air Force has any type of site like this?  My girlfriends son is joining the  Air Force after graduation & I told her how much help "Navy For Moms" was for me.
