My son is an E3 stationed at JBPHH and has been in holding for 18 months. He applied to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, received a Congressional Nomination, and an appointment to the Academy! Huge accomplishment and I am so proud of…Continue

Brrrr, it is cold in MI!!! 12 degrees, windchill -4 and will continue dropping during the day.
I rather enjoy my son in the Navy, I have places to visit and now it is HI! He has a job and he can retire when he has 20 years in. We communicate on a steady basis. I am a nosy person and I have learned that I cannot know everything he does nor do I want to anymore. I have grown as a person and he has matured into a responsible man. I love him dearly and am proud of the person he has become.
Love the anchor and heart. I will have to remember that for card making next Valentines day!!! I have the anchor on Cricut.
To all Sailors, I wish you:
MAKANI OLU A HOLO MAILE
Fair Winds and Following Seas.
(Got this from watching Hawaii 50.)
When our son's and daughters reenlist in the Navy it is their choice. I would rather have then back in their old room and be the way it use to be. They have grown up on us and I wish them all:
MAKANI OLU A HOLO MAILE
Fair Winds and Following Seas.
Welcome to all the new Hawaii Mom's!
tysmom- Congrats to your son on his reenlistment!
allie1928- You all are getting the brunt of it! My area is getting hit with rain and wind. Need the rain not the wind, trees falling all over town (8 went into homes Friday night) :-/ We have another storm arriving this afternoon, not looking forward to more wind, hopefully the forecast is wrong! I would imagine this means it will be headed your way in a few days after it leaves the west coast....not good. Take care, I hope all is well for you!
hi all ..thanks for the welcome. Our sailor says hawaii is awesome! he went to the beach yesterday...lucky him here in ny we are under a winter storm warning:(...take care
Tysmom! Bravo Zulu to your son!
Laura - Welcome to the group. My son has been at K-Bay for over two years now and has less than a year left. We visited once and loved it too!
Allie 1928 - welcome, your son is going to love Hawaii.
Tysmom - congratulations on your son's reenlistment. My son has until the end of the year to decide if he's going to stay in or not. While we were there this past summer, we seen a Sailor reenlist on the Mighty Mo!
WELCOME and ALOHA! Laurie and Allie
tysmom, congratulations on your son's reenlistment! I often wonder if mine will when the time comes. I would so love to see a homecoming but not sure if that will ever happen. It would be much easier if they came to San Diego, at least I could drive there!!!
Allie!!!! Welcome to Hawaii!!! So glad to see you here, I"m sure your son will enjoy it as much as they all do! :)
