Just heard from my sailor; he is back on dry land. He found out yesterday that he passed his E5 exam. He is now a 2nd class Petty Officer! We are very excited for him. Now he can move off base, IF he can find a place he can afford! Thank you Lord!

Hi Pat,

He'll be on the Chicago, but he hasn't even seen it yet, since he doesn't yet have shipyard clearance - hopefully this week.

I need a special Thanksgiving favor... I thought I had joined this group a couple of weeks ago, when I first joined the site, but I'm still feeling my way around, obviously. In any case, I just got a call from my daughter, who woke up a little while ago to an email letter her know that my son-in-law's granddad passed away last night. I assume he'll wake up to the same email in a couple of hours, too, unless she can catch him on the phone first. They've only been married for three weeks, and he left for Pearl about a week and a half ago, so he'll be there alone for another couple of weeks until she joins him. He hasn't had the opportunity to meet very many people yet, and she's afraid he'll do nothing but sit in his room playing computer games all weekend. Does anyone have a sailor who'd be willing to go drag him out of his room and take him along for Thanksgiving?

Well hello eveyone its been awhile since I've been here. Has some of you know who are on my personal friend list I had a death in the family. My mother pass away this pass friday Nov. 20th. She lived in Puerto Rico. I just got back yesterday. It was not easy for us. My brother and didn't get a chance to say goodbye to her. It was a masive heart attack. The one who had it worst was our sister who found her. Its not easy especially around the hoildays. My son was able to get leave from his command so he arrived also yesterday to be with me. I am so greatful to them for letting him come home for this. I surely needed my son here with me it helps a whole lot. To all of you who send your thoughts and prayers thankyou.
