I'm operating in the dark as I have not had the pleasure of seeing Hawaii (YET) but I can certainly see why they wouldn't want any junk yards there!

Thanks Mary - in searching the yellowpages.com we found a repair shop down the street from them that will look at the car no charge and give them an estimate. Over the phone the mechanic was optimistic the idling wasn't a big problem. It's so hard to be in Wisconsin, and unable to help. I love this website and the help everyone is willing to give. Thanks Moms!!

Hi ladies, ohhh these photos make me just want to.....go to Hawaii!

WiMom - if you do a search on yellowpages.com, you will be able to find scrap/junk yards in Hawaii. I started to pull them up for you but realized that I did not know where your daughter is located but it was showing there were 11 scrap yards.

Moms - My son is halfway through Navy boot camp but I just joined this group because my daughter is in Hawaii with her Marine who is stationed there. They have a car given to them by a cousin. This car is turning out to be a lot of trouble. Needs two new tires, new brakes, new tail light and the idle doesn't work right. Does anyone know where they can get rid of it? Like a scrap yard or something?

Thanks lynda n - I HOPE our son gets bored and calls home for a LONG call!!! We expect he is really busy right now and probably is not leaving the ship much during the week. I'm thinking we will hear from him over the weekend.
