Kirsten, very sorry to read about your godchild. Unimaginable at that age to have a stroke. May peace be with your family, our prayers are.

Oh April, I think I'm excited for you! At least you can start making a plan. I will just be happy to plan on WHEN we can pick Nick up from the airport here. Graduation is less than two weeks away...no travel orders yet and no travel office on base, he's frusterated.

Good morning all and welcome home Pat! You are just a Navy magnet!!! LOL Congratulations to Ashley on the engagement I bet she is just beaming.

Kimmy, you are SO right! I have one son and one daughter and even when our daughter is away at school (4 hours) I probably hear from her two or three times a day. With our son....if I get two calls a week...it's been a good week!

lol I know what your saying. I would get very pissed off if my son did that to me. Even if his boat is there they still have work to do during the day. Depending how his work day is set up. I don't see why he couldn't call every once in a while. I hope when my son goes out there that he call at least twice a week I'll be happy with that. He just has to remember the time difference. 6 hours for us. Thanks for making me laugh I love the grounding him part.

If my son goes to Hawaii and doesn't call...I'm grounding him. Especially if that ship is sitting in Hawaii, I mean what else does he have to do......enjoy the beaches??!!!

Lynda, I have been following the news of the Shiloh sailor since they announce he went overboard. Extremely sorry for him, his family and shipmates, this was an experienced 1st class sailor, I believe he was in the Navy for 10 years - very sad.

There seems to be much sad news about our sailors recently.
