Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Atlantic is 1 hour ahead of Eastern, which 1 hour ahead of Central, which is 1 hour ahead of Mountain, which is one hour ahead of Pacific, which is 3 hours ahead of Hawaii. Eastern is 6 hours ahead of Hawaii (right now it's 1:46 AM Eastern Wed morning and 7:47 PM Hawaii Tuesday night)

Serena, our son is an FC and will be reporting to the USS Chung Hoon DDG -93, I have found one very helpful mom on our ship and hope to meet others.

Sounds like your son will get a month or two in before our son arrives. Where is he going to be stationed Serena?

That is a gorgeous flower, I hope it does grow for you Dawn. We are still glowing about our son's orders to HI and although it will be a couple of months before he reports, I am like a spounge trying to soak up everything I can from you.

It's Flag Day, I hope we see many flags waving proudly today for our military.

This is one group that I'm truly excited to join!!! Our son called this morning and he got orders!!! Yep, he is heading to Hawaii!!! He will be joining the USS Chung Hoon DDG 93 once he graduates from his C school.

Any one else on the Hoon? Would love to know more/all. Thanks!

Pam I'm thinking thaat your son will not have to go out and purchase internet right away there are many places to pick up WiFi for free and on base too. we use Skype and and it works great for video chatting.
