Welcome to Hawaii!!! It is a beautiful place to live and visit. My sailor has been there for almost three years which included one deployment and headed for another sometime in the future ( has been changed multiple times for a variety of reasons). I have been there three times, one of which was homecoming for the sub...AWESOME!!!!!

News: My son reenlisted this past Friday. The reenlistment took place on top of Koko Head. It was on video on FB. I was so glad it was on video! Another milestone in his Navy life!!! Proud mama!!!!

Hello all!

I just got word that my son and daughter in law will be headed to Hawaii.  I'm not sure of the time frame but it will probably be within the next few months.

They were to go to Italy but things changed.  Needs of the Navy and all that.  It was a bit of a shocker but they've learned to write things in pencil instead of pen.

We've visited Hawaii several times (and loved it) but I know living there will be a totally different experience.  I'm sure they will have lots of questions so I will depend on the expertise of the group for wise advice!

Chat with you all soon!

Linda, it's very thoughtful of you to post the info and your prayers. I have a Marine too and my heart goes out to these families and their tragic loss.

Kevsmom93 I know where Paradise is.  We live pretty close to each other.  :-)  I will let you know what Sub my son will be on when he lets me know.  It seems like time flies by so fast.

Hi LindaGirl8, I'm not sure what Sub my son is being assigned to in Pearl Harbor.  I will let you know when I find out from him.  He is going to "C" School right now, and will graduate the week of Feb 13., and come home for a quick visit and then fly to Oahu on Feb 28.  He has to report to duty on March 2nd in Pearl Harbor.  Maybe our sons will be on the same Sub.

Hi Mark's Mom, my son graduated from Sub School in Groton, Conn., a year ago last Nov. of 2013 & has been at Pearl H. since Dec. of 2013, a little over a year now. Time has gone by so fast since he has been there a year. What sub is your son going to be on? Does he know yet?

Yes, I know mark's mom it's difficult for my husband and I to believe it will be a year in May. And it will a be two years this April for myself, mrsb and ProudNavyMom#1 when our boys headed out to RTC!                                                             I'm just south of Redding here in Paradise :-) Our son is assigned to the USS Columbus and still working hard to earn those dolphins!!

A big hello to you ProudNavyMom#1! I've missed you and hope all is well your way, drop me a line sometime.
