I cannot believe two cyclones are bearing down on the Hawaiian Islands!  I've talked to my son a couple of times and they are preparing for the first one to arrive Thursday night into Friday.  Hopefully the second one will head North away from the islands!

I watched this video last night when the Navy posted it!  Gives me goosebumps.  This was going on while we were visiting our Sailor in Hawaii and it was interesting to see all of the foreign ships in the harbor at Pearl.  What an experience!  My son didn't have much to do since he's land based at K-Bay and he was on post-deployment leave.

tysmom - How exciting!  I always said it was hard when my son left for the Navy because I did not get to be a part of that life.

I am sure there are more proud moms out there! Yeah to your sailor Storymom!!! As soon as I read your "story", I saw it in my minds eye! I would like to be there, well maybe I should ask if I would see anything?

Congrats to all our sailors in RIMPAC, in the AIR and on/under the SEA! ❤❤

In the extended RimPac video, at about the 4-minute mark, that's my son's squadron, dropping a missile from their P-3 Orion SubHunter Aircraft and hitting their target! HooYah!! He says nobody gets much sleep during RimPac! This is his 4th one on the island- quite the undertaking in military exercises and readiness with units all over the world!

My sailor has a video of all the ships and subs that participated in RIMPAC 2014 and his sub is the first one in the line of subs. There was a 2 second view of it on the video below. and I can't highlight it or move what he has to here. So cool to see his sub in action! Proud mom here!!!! 6 subs and his was first in line!

Here is an extended and compact version of RIMPAC 2014 around 5 minutes long and more detail. Lots of faces could be your son?? I saw some Marines! (I've got one of those too :-D)
