Welcome Ryans! and Aloha too-- your sailor is gonna love the island :-) I think there's an O'Kane group on the NavyforMoms website, isn't there? You can check that out too.

I am looking for any moms out there that have a son or daughter stationed in Hawaii and attached to any ship. My son will join the USS O'Kane on June 3rd. I am new to all of this and have questions on communication while he is deployed. Thank you for any help!

Hi Marlene, just found out about the USS Texas group from NavyMom2013. Great idea, my son joined the Texas, Dec of last year, so is kind of new to the sub as well. Once their sub gets underway, we are going to need each other more then ever, so I am so glad that we are all finding each other! Regards, Linda

Sorry I'm so excited I mistakenly said this month I meant his leave is in May...woo hoo!

Hello all! Our son received his orders and will be arriving in Pearl Harbor in June. We are so happy for him since it was also his first choice. Received a phone call last week that he will be arriving home for two weeks of leave this month! He graduates A school on May 8th. We're looking forward to this visit after 13 long months and only seeing him for four days out of all that time. He made a quick turn around trip in October to see his little brother graduate from MCRD San Diego. Fortunately he had time awaiting to class up. Wow, I can't believe we're at this point in his journey. Really looking forward to all the guidance I know you will all provide!

Hi Linda Girl, navymom2013, tysmom! I do recognize some names :-) I finally made it here!

God's Blessings to all of our son's!!

What a handsome Sailor!  Too bad the circumstances weren't any better but I know you enjoyed him being home.

navymom2013 - My son had his car shipped to Hawaii from Atlanta.  Took about two months, but he is very happy to have his little "baby."  It's in storage right now since he's deployed but he's there for a couple more years and needs transportation.
