I guess my son must be trying to make up for the lost calls and letters during boot camp because he calls almost every night!! lol!!! I'm kinda surprised he has been calling so much-he called tonight to share that he is going to be a part of the Color Guard for some Navy Seal's retirement on Friday and was not bragging about it but wanted to share the story of how the Officer in charge started calling him "powder" because he is so white!!! lol!!! He thought it was so funny!! They told him yesterday that his knee is what it is and that he will have to "man up" and understand that it will swell and hurt every day and the best we can hope for is that the continuous bone-on-bone action will eventually kill the nerves in the knee so the pain will stop! It's surprising to me that a month ago I would have felt horrified by that idea, but my son made it sound like good news!! this stuff gets crazy to me sometimes!!! Made me realize I have grown too. I miss talking to you guys every day!!! By the way I have lost 9 pounds so far!!!! My old Weight Watchers instructor used to say visualize every pound you lose as 4 sticks of butter so I have lost 36 sticks of butter!!! lol!!! Sleep well my friends!!

Hi Every-one. Thanks for all the support it's really appreciated! I do have a tendancy to worry too much ...All the boys have a long and hard read a head of them oncet A school starts what better support than the guys you've become friends with since B/C Of course my son wants to class up with his friends, but, he knows its out of his control like he said.... it is what it is I'm gong to be just fine.. anotherproundmom, no, its was not my son that came home hes not had the surgery yet. Pahoapam, thanks so much for info about SWCC on u-tube. I've watched it numerous times, I also sent the link to family and friends so they have a better understanding what our son's are training for in the Navy, because typically when they ask what my sons training for and I say SWCC the response is huh, whats that.
Wyomomgmom. Our sons sound so a like. I also called my son on M/D we had a bad connection.... so he said I will call you right back mom, well he did called back , however it was a day late he called Tuesday evening.

Thanks Again or all the support!!!! Have a good day

I called to wish my son great day and thank him for his service to our country and he said he would call back in a few.....guess what I am still waiting for that call. I could wring his neck. LOL Tennis mom, you are welcome to my house for pizza any day---every day. I think of you all and yor sons daily. {{HUGGS}}

Happy Memorial Day everyone!!! I'm sure if you are like me-it has a whole new meaning this year. I watched the National Memorial Day Concert on TV last night and cried like a baby. Unfortunately, my son called during the middle of it and caught me sobbing!!! He thought something was horribly wrong. When I told him, he was like "Oh gosh Mom!" Tennismom-I'm sorry to hear about your son, but I am glad it is just lasik surgery and that he will still be able to stay in SWCC. I know it is not much comfort, but thank God it isn't something serious. We will continue to pray for you guys. Keep in touch and let us know how it is going. I wish we were all meeting for lunch today!!! Have a safe holiday and don't forget the fallen! Love you guys!!

Tennis mom, The surgery is simple however there is a good time in healing process. The vision changes alot during this time. I wish hearing a story about a buddy going home to family this weekend, maybe it was yours! Im sure he will be fine no matter what path he needs to take.

Hi everyone, Been catching up reading all the comments. Pohoapam, sorry about your son , my son told me its tough running on the beach in combat boots he twisted his ankle...Wyomingmom, what time do you want us to come over for pizza ( I wish).
The address OMG , I've still don't know the address I've been asking since they arrived in S/D so I could send clothes. I gave up and sent the clothes to his uncle that lives in S/D.

I'm upset because it's looking like my son will not class up with the guys from 810. He was told before he can class up he needs lasik to correct his vision, after the lasik surgery he cannot PT for a month. I feel sorry for him because when he start A school he won't have the support of the 810 swcc guys hes bonded with since B/C He thinks once the other guys class up and start A school he won't be allowed to room with them anymore. I have to say I'm a little worried about the surgery after all we are talking about his eyes .
Darn it I was so looking forward to meeting every one at graduation.

have a great weekend everyone!!!

have a good weekend !
