Good Morning Ladies and Welcome to my page or you new girls!!! Most o Indoc in Great Lakes will apply to your sons/husbands because of the nature of indoc. They get a lot of good information like legal and financial counseling. It is different for them because of Spec Ops but still very informative. Even though my son is no longer in SWCC I have kept up with this page in case I can be of help to any one coming in. There are also two moms on here (anotherproudmom and jseif) that I know of whose sons made it through BCT!!!! We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Your sons/husbands will be in our prayers. You are about to get on another roller coaster but very different from BootCamp. The drop out rate is extremely high and it happens to some of the fastest, toughest sailors. My son called me almost nightly during training and would sometimes talk for an hour just trying to keep his head in the game. He did not DOR, but he understood every time someone did and I can tell you that when one of their buddies DORs it affects them all. I am not trying to be discouraging I am just trying to tell you ladies that it is very different than boot camp and the level of suuport they will need from you will change. I'm encouraging you ladies to stay close to each other and I'm here if you need me!!! Love to all and some big, huge Navy hugs!!! Pam PS-Roxanne they did not operate-he is on light limited duty for six months awaiting his next orders. Jseif I cannot wait to see him, but the best part is my daughter from Arizona is joing us in San Diego so this will be the first time in three years that the three of us have been together at the same time. I am super stoked!!!! lol!! I have a surprise for both of them too-I have lost 35 pounds since I have seen them, so I'm excited to show off!!!! lol!!

Hey girls...I am sending a care package to my son (mostly clothes) but I would like to send some healthy snacks too for all 5 of them...I do know the roomates last names, but that does not really help me because we all go by screen names or 1st names...If you want to pm me...maybe our sons are roomates! Also sending Almond butter since he is allergic to peanut butter and his roommates are stocking up on that. I hear the a lot of the "indoc" does not apply to them since they are short timers there...(always subject to change)...let me know...Group Hug to ALL!!

pahoapam, Thank you so much for the info, great to know these things ahead of time! I'm sorry to hear about your son's shoulder injury, I hope & pray that he heals quickly and can move forward with his training. Hugs to You!!

roxanne and kelly-the answer is no, this is nothing like bootcamp!!! Not only can you talk on weekends, but you can talk during the week, too. Your sailor will have complete freedom to call you anytime they are free. They will have a lot of free time in the beginning while they wait to class up! They can have their cell phones with them ( but of course, while training they can't). I wish both of you and your sailor's a lot of luck and best wishes. It is not easy. My son was medically dropped from SWCC when his shoulder separated during a training exercise. He is on a 6 month medical hold in San Diego awaiting next orders. I will pray for your sailors and for you guys!!! Get ready to support them through a difficult time. They can do it!!!! Hooyah!!! Feel free to ask any questions I can help you with and if I don't know the answer someone on here will!!! Love to all!!

Well Kelly if it's true I guess we will be helped by N4M once again. I think they were under the impression they could call us on weekends too

pahoapam, My son is a new BC grad /DIV 818 and among the SWCC guys waiting to go to SD, I think his depart date is Sept 20. I thought we could talk to our guys on weekends when they are in SWCC training.. Will they be out of touch just like BC? I was just curious.
