Hi ladies - I hope you all had a good weekend and that your sons are doing well.
Nor Cal Mom - I left a comment on the other N4M SWCC site about my son. He is now heading into his third week and is doing much better. He was encouraged when one of the instructors told him that if they didn't want him there they would have DOR'd him by now. He is still worried about his size, he said at 6'1 and 150 lbs. it's going to be tough during the drown proofing b/c the instructors will be able to toss him around like a rag doll. He told me last night he would never DOR on his own and he sounded great.

To babrams7... tell your son DO NOT dor himself. Make them do it. Don't give up. I remember my son calling and taking a pic of his legs, complaining how sore they where. They were swollen. He had never had that happen to him before. Tell him to hang in there. He has got to tough it out. (try icing, it does wonders.)

Hey Ladies!!! Congratulations anotherproudmom and jseif!!! I'm so proud of your guys!!! My son is still waiting for his next orders and to find out what will happen to him next. He is still in CA but away from everyone else. I think he is more than ready to move on to the next phase. He said he had to help out Friday for the graduation of SEALS and SWCC and it was tough, but he was proud to be there. I hope everyone else's sons/husbands are doing well and have received jobs that they will enjoy! Navy Mom Hugs to all!!! Pam

Hi Ladies,
My son called Saturday and said the first week of training was grueling. He thought about DORing because he could barely walk. He's a runner so he was very discouraged. I told him that he's never ran on sand before and he would get use to it. He put a comment on facebook about 16 hrs. ago. (not sure if he should be doing that) He said they had a great pep talk and can't wait for more training. I pray that all the guys have a good week and that the ones who had to DOR get new orders soon so they can find their place in our great Navy. I'm so proud of all of them. Have a great week.

My son is currently classed as undesignated. Basically he is doing yard work or whatever needs to be done. Waiting on orders. He made a good point...the reason things are so slow is partially due to the influx of people in the Navy right now. They say they are "overstaffed" so to speak.

Hey Ladies!!! I have been so busy I haven't had time to write. Anotherproudmom all I know is my son is waiting on his new orders. Since he was medically dropped and is on light limited duty, he will not get to choose a job and go on to A school for a while. For right now he is on the other side of the base away from everyone else he knew. He said he was working around the base and just waiting. Not sure how everyone else is doing. How is your son??? Still hanging in there I hope!! Love to all Pam
