Thank you wiggly turtle your awesome I'm going to try to keep calm bc I don't have family or anyone where I am and I'm still working full time and was worried about not having that income that I make now...I'm a planner sucks for me lol

Sarah didn't you just say he would b staying there for c school? My husband won't get a c school they are only offering one and he doesn't want it

If he has your address listed as his home of record, the navy will pay to move your stuff and his stuff from there to the new duty station. They will give him a plane ticket from Texas to the new station, but he can trade that in to use it to come home from Texas. Then you'd submit for reimbursement for travel from home to new duty station. They will explain all that to him later. He will get a travel brief a few weeks to a month before graduation where they will tell him how to do all of this and his class will get to ask questions.

Asia, you will not find your name on either soft or hard orders. He can look online (can't remember where, but he should know) and see whether dependents are authorized or not. My husband was able to see that he had 1 dependent he was bringing when he looked. I wouldn't even worry about it unless he gets overseas orders (OCONUS) - which are very uncommon for married sailors or those with dependents (unless they ask for them - but I have no idea how that works in that case).

Amber were you able to see if you were on his soft orders or not?

The time between soft orders and hard orders is unpredictable. It can range from a few days to a month or more. It can also be after graduation. He'll usually have a "report no later than" date on his hard orders, which will be 2-3 weeks following graduation and departure from Texas. This will give him time to come home and then move to his new duty station. Just be aware that if he uses it all, it will likely eat up ALL of his accrued leave. My husband used 3-4 days of it so that he still has leave left later. He'll also be granted travel time depending on how far the new duty station is from his home of record (take the miles between the two, divide by 350, round up = number of travel days). Try your best to take a deep breath and relax. It does seem overwhelming, but it will all work out in the end. You don't have to do any paperwork for the move until a week or so before you actually do it, so you have *plenty* of time.

Thanks Marcy and Amber I'm just so bothered lol bc I have no clue what I'm doing and haven't seen him since bootcamp rarely even talk bc they are so busy but Amber if you will please keep me posted bc I need help lol

Asia my husband received soft orders in August (I think around August 18th) and we're still waiting on his hard orders. He graduates October 13th

Thank you for your quick response how long is it normally before they get actual hard orders bc I'm 13 hours away from him and don't really understand how we will be able to have somewhere to live and have it all set up in time ntm all of our belongings where I'm located...is he granted any time to come help or what I'm just so confused and my brain is fried along with his lol
