Yes the 14th of April works for me. Bloomington would be fine also. Keep me informed.

Had a great 8 days with my sailor. Sad to see him go. Not sure.when he will be back. He was actually happy to be going back to CP. Guess he is really a sailor now. He kept saying he was ready to go home. Broke my heart and also made me feel good about his decision to be in the Navy. He is all done with FMTB training. Now the wait for deployment. Thankfully he will be with an artillary unit.

Have a great day everyone.

NM*II--is your sailor's girlfriend on the group here called "Girlfriends, Fiances & Wives"  It may be of support to her.

Those of you in White Sox country,  be sure you are on the Chicago Moms page.  The link is on my page if you can't find it.

Hi NM*ll  You so nailed it when you said mixed bag of emotions.  What a roller coaster and my sons only been gone for a week.  You will get through it.  When does your son leave?  My son also left behind a girlfriend of a year and a half.  We told her that she is more than welcome to come over for family dinners and game night, or to just come and hang out in his room.  Write a lot of letters and keep busy during the 9 weeks.  Thanks for the info on the WS navy night. We live about half and hour from Chicago and that sounds like fun.  Good luck to your family, your son, and his girlfriend.

Linda K  Congrats to your sailor!

Kimme..sorry to hear that your sailor Dor'ed.....SWCC is a tough program...hopefully he will be able to try again in 2 years....my sailor is hoping to head back to the SEAL program after being off for about 2 years....he was injured and to be dropped.

Welcome !!  pinkyxoxo and NM*Il...tell us alittle about your self and/or your recruits

Laura...Sundays don't work for me...we have church on other obligations that we do on that day.

Is there any one available to meet April 14th in Springfield or Bloomington?  (I thought Medic mom you said you could?)

Kind of sad news, my son DOR'ed from SWCC. He can always apply again in 2 years. In a selfish way I am relieved that he won't be doing such an intense and dangerous job. Also the selfish mom part is happy that he will be coming back to GL for his new schooling as a gunners mate. I like the idea of him being an hour away from home since I have a feeling after he graduates he will be on a ship half way around the world from me. It's such a relief to not have to keep my dad's poor health from our Pookie. Thanks for all the support and advice while I was debating telling the kid about his Gramps. Navy moms are by far the best moms, if I do say so myself.
