My son is going to be stationed in Japan and I was just wondering if any other mom's have kids over there and what they took with them and how long it takes for snail mail to reach them. Thanks!Continue

I have to say I was shocked to see the box on the porch! He just got to GL on 3/28/12. Didn't smell to bad and I didn't cry until the dog crawled in the box like he was looking for him. So, now i'm sad.

I am trying to figure this site out, I seem to be commenting everywhere not sure if it's in the right spot. I would love to get togeher, I'm only 7 miles from Louis Joliet Mall....I'm home during the day too now....so we could meet up at the mall one day if daytime is better for you than Saturdays. If you'd rather chat on facebook you can friend me, my name is Beth Engberg Donofrio
Hi Cheryl.....
I would LOVE to get together some time and chat about Navy life! I'm in Bolingbrook so we are not too far at all from eachother. Whereabouts in Joliet are you? Do you work during the day or are you home?
Beth
Hi Cheryl! Will be glad to answer Texas questions, but it's a huge state and it depends on where she'll be? I'm in SETexas near Houston, will she be in Corpus?
Cheryl,
I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!! We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor. I see you have a son serving and your daughter will be leaving for boot camp soon!! I also have a son and daughter serving, and another daughter who recently became a veteran!!! Please feel free to jump in and join our chats. You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life. We are all in different phases of our daughters Naval careers and we are always there for each other!!! Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
Hi, Cheryl! I sure miss Hannah. Her anticipated PIR is August 9th. Does your daughter have a ship out date yet? Is your son active duty or reserves? Hannah enlisted as reserves to make sure it's what she wants to do. She wants to serve, but her recruiter said reserves is a good way to start. Are there other Joliet moms that you get together with once in a while?
Oh boy don't I know it. LOL, we've been caught in a loop already and he hasn't even left home yet. We are back on track now and hopefully everything is going to be fine from this point forward. My sailor is going to BC on the 26th, he signed up for the Apprenticeship Program, which I hope is a good thing. He wants to do something with electronics, possibly sonar. At first we thought he was put in to a sonar apprenticeship, but no its the PACT. I think he will also be doing A School at GL. Or at least I hope, it's nice being this close to them. I'm having loss issues already. LOL!
I think we should try to schedule something soon, it would be great to meet all the local mom's. I'm free past this weekend. Look at your calendar and we can pick a date and let everyone else know from there.
You can do friend requests on here! LOL, see how new I am! Nice to meet you Cheryl, my name is Jackie.
Glad you already found the IL group. Still, here's the official welcome :)
(Excuse me for being late in my welcomes. Have been off the computer more than usual of late. This comes with hugs.)
