Hi
Pat - your words are more than perfect. They are a comfort for all of us.
"Navy Moms " a place to receive a blanket of support. Thanks, needed that too
Have had a small pity party for myself. Just got off son's package - his fourth Christmas in a row not home.

And all the sharings are right - keeping something of theirs to smell or hug
hearing music that set you off or fixing their favorite foods - then relatives or friends that just do not understand. Deb - glad to be here with you - all safe and cuddled up in that wonderfurl warm blanket of supprot. Hugs all

Sewing Party in the Southwestern Illinois area of Troy. Tuesday, Jan. 11th. Bring your sewing machines, your yard cards of soft to the face touch cottons, and join me at the Troy VFW. We have the hours of 4-7 reserved. Later I will post it as an event. Of course, if the Triad School District calls off school due to bad weather, this will be rescheduled.

Oh, and sorry honey, could not get the day before. Guess your birthday will be with your wife at the VFW that night.

DebBon, While N4Ms is provides great info & big shoulders to cry upon, it can be frustrating at times to read about moms of other divisions receiving letters & calls. The form letter is mailed out once your recruit's division fills. You should receive a "real" letter from him shortly. After about 2 wks, they are given time to write on Sundays & the letters are mailed on Mondays. I received my son's letters on Wednesdays since I live in central IL. Most of the other moms in my son's div received their letters on Thurs. I always posted when I got his letters so everyone else knew that letters were on their way.

Thank you ladies, I am keeping faith that I will hear something in the next few days. I really thought I would have this weekend because it has been 3 weeks and he said Mom, I'm here and love you and will talk to you in 3 weeks. Well now that time has come and will be gone. Maybe something happen with his group cause there are others in the PIR 1/21/11 group that I'm in that have gotten letters home or phone calls that are in the DIV one above mine. Maybe tomorrow will be my day to hear from him.
I do so appreciate the kind words all of you have given, it truly eases the pain I'm feeling. I just hope I am the first one that hears from him and not his friends.

AnchorMom5....I'm in Round Lake Beach. 20 minutes from Great Lakes. I know it will be a whirlwind visit, but we're still looking forward to it. What's a little more commotion during the ?holidays

Deb--soon you will be packing for PIR. When you see that coming up, it does get easier. Of course, you are hearing all the holiday music everywhere, which doesn't help you even if you are grocery shopping. (Mine was gone during 4th of July and patriotic music.) Wish you were closer so I could meet you for lunch. Let me tell you---those lunches always meet where we don't have to tip anyone, as they last 2-3 hours.
((((Hugs)))))

Thank you all, I was at work when the box came and my husband and daughter emptied it and broke down the box for trash my daughter even washed his laundry. The only thing I have that smells like him is the sweatshirt he wore the night before he left. And trust me no one is getting near it. I went into his bedroom to hang it up and just fell on his bed and cried. It's been 21 days and I so want to hear from him just to hear that he is doing ok. I miss him immensely, my husband and daughter think I'm crazy. My daughter is 21 and feels like I didn't carry on like this when she left for college so why would I carry on like this. Well, let me tell you she wasn't here to see how I was when she left her brother (my SR) was the one who help me through it even though she was only 35 minutes away from home I still was able to call her, instant message with her and email with her. With him it's goodbye see you in 8 weeks (which is 9 1/2 weeks now until PIR because of the holidays) and my husband never had the bond that I have with both of my children. This entire experience has been more than I can take at times. I cried when the mailman came yesterday cause there was no letter. When does it get easier? I appreciate all the support N4M's is giving so far. Thank you all.

Handed out pre-addressed Christmas cards this morning in church. Ran out of cards at 200! Wow! These are all military people with famlies in our church.
