Hi All:) Getting ready to leave for sister-in-law's house in Villa Park. PIR is tomorrow...YEAH! My son should be finishing up battle stations as I write this so we'll probably receive our "I'm a sailor" call in route north. His division has done well so far. They won all-male captain's cup last Saturday & should be Hall of Fame depending upon how they perform as a div during battle stations. I did see him on Thanksgiving as we were allowed to adopt him as well as another recruit from Syracuse. I'm looking forward to spending time with him over the next 3 days before he flies to Goose Creek on Tues. His nuke rate will be EM. Looks to snow Friday night into Saturday...

That's so wonderful Anchor Mom5. That's quite a haul for that lady from Elgin and super sweet. My son will be home for a week too, starting on the 20th. I got to see him in Virginia Beach this summer, but it's not the same as having him home. Hopefully he won't spend all his time at home catching up on his sleep. When did you see yours last?

My sailor gets to come home on the 17th for a few weeks and than he is off to the USS Boxer in San Diego! We can not wait for him to come home! He had a wonderful Thanksgiving, being a part of the Adopt a Sailor program! A wonderful lady welcomed him and 3 other sailors into her home to share a wonderful meal and great company! she picked them up at GL and even took them back! She lives in Elgin! I just think that it is wonderful there are still so many caring people in this world! We have became friends on FB!

I am still stuffed. So now I just waddle around decorating for Christmas
How many have their trees up? I got it up , but not decorated.
Taking teh pet turtle next Saturday for her picture with Santa and then mail one to our son. Regrettfully - Alex will not be coming home for Christmas. The 4th one in a row he is not home. Bummed out, but he will call and talk for long time :)

Welcome Brittany

Everyone havea great night.

There is some kind of facebook page about Great Lakes that posts all the great events they hold up there. I'll keep an eye for for one of their postings or try to find them for you.

T-Lynn Zeke is so adorable!!! I love that face he has on, what a character. So glad he is healthy and made it through, I remember when we were all praying for him. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!!! Mine was so relaxing and I had such a great time! Maybe because I did not do the cooking?!? LOL
