It's an Illinois shout-out and welcome to new member Monica!

Met another Mom this morning for breakfast--which meant we could have stayed for lunch, too! What a great way to start off a 4 day weekend!

WooHoo!! Just got the "I arrived" call from my son. The call lasted 15 seconds...definitely scripted. It sounded like he was reading from a card. I asked him it was like his recruiter said it would be. He said he didn't know yet.

Okay Moms, We have our groups for October. It was accidentally posted on MAS We Ship Love but should be on Molly's Adopt A Sailor page tomorrow. (Thanksgiving groups) Sally and I are having a packing party on Oct. 23, so if you are around the Chicago area, check it out in "Events". REMEMBER, if you want your postage paid by the Pepsi grant, it can only be done by attending a "packing party". Also boxes will be sent this month in honor of James "Doc" Swink, a Navy Corpsman who was KIA. His mother is a N4M.

He was pretty excited about leaving...a little nervous about the entire Nuke journey. His dad & I told him how proud we are of him (college for the past 4 yrs was a bust), but scored 97 on his ASVAB so I hope that he'll do well once he learns to develop good study habits.

Oh Dodie, Believe it or not, it will be okay. All of us have "been there, done that"!! My sailor is a Nuke who just finished Prototype the end of July. It really is an exciting journey that we take with our kids. By being here on N4M's, we can ask questions and understand what to expect, what they are doing and in addition to making some wonderful friends, we get to stay a part of their lives. So.....stick with us kiddo, we'll help you through this amazing journey!!!!
