Mark--quit making me miss my Hoosier homeroots!
Illinois--we will do just as well and perhaps even better for our first big meetings? I know our Metro East group did great in June for a group of 5, and our Mom's Saturday lunches have been wonderful in downstate Illinois.....

oh--does anyone know how to do a countdown clock on the meet and greet page?

I have to get the new customs forms--last two times I was met with the evil eye. If you have some, Pat, please bring. I picked up a case of suckers with candy in the center at Sam's today. Bringing a couple of boxes of things to divide between our shipping boxes.

Hi Carol, Do you have customs forms? If not, I can grab a bunch and bring them on Sat.

Here is the information about our packing party portion of our Meet and Greet.

Molly's special hugs are headed for a medical clinic in Kuwait! This is kind of like a MASH unit. Guys and gals pass through this clinic for medical care! So our mission this month is two fold- take care of the wonderful staff that puts themselves on the line every day and send some mom love to those wounded warriors coming through the clinic on their way to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our contact, a Navy nurse says "We get along well in our unit for being strangers to each other, but that is the beauty of being in the military you adapt and overcome. We do that together. We are here to help out the Army medically and we are getting used to their differences. I am glad I was chosen to come here, but I look forward to going home as well. I have 3 boys at home, ages 13, 3, and 1. They are being taken care of by my husband and mother. You can't imagine how much I miss and need them."

So our mission
For the staff- A unit of 20 men and 10 women, some single, some married with children. The women have requested tampons, pads, liners, body sprays, lotions and powders, and finger nail polish (no bright colors). The men have received some packages but would like deodorants and foot powders and such. They do have microwaves so think of fun snacks! They have also requested individual drink mixes! These wonderful caretakers share what they have with those passing through so lets shower them with love!

For the patients- what is better than a note from someone who cares? When you are hurt and far from home a few kind words mean so very much! So lets stock this clinic with cards and letter that they can hand to those brave injured warriors! Along with those wonderful notes, let's send trial size lotions, eye drops, toothpaste and toothbrushes and more! The wounded warriors passing through can pick up what they need and slip it into their pocket with that precious note from home! This clinic serves 40 or more injured in a normal day.

We want to ship our packages from October 24th to October 30th!

Ladies - please - if you have the opportunity, go to this meet and greet. And drag that hubby of yours too. Promise and I truely mean this - PRMOISE - this isn't just a meal and bragging about your sailor time - it is where you have a growing experience that will be healing - rewarding - and create a friendship bonds that are speical and unquie to each person. I cannot attend - my mother is having out patient surgery the day before this event. But I was lucky to meet some of these ladies at the one in Rockford, And I can relive every moment of those three hours. Not only did we give something to each other - but anyone seeing us - told us to thanks our sailors. Come on ladies - it's only one day of your time and I promise you will not be sorry you made the effort to go. When you go - hug someone for me :)
Ladies for you:
Catch a Colorful Autumn Leaf - and on it write a wish or two -
and by this night fall
your wish/wishes - may they come ture. Blessings and Hugs TLynn
