Closer to the middle of September would work for me, my Sailor will be home the first of September for a short visit. I don't care where we meet, it is just fun to get together! - SandySea, I will be calling you soon
I'm just 20 miles or so from Fairview Heights. I'd love to meet up with you all. I'm just not sure when my son will finish PACT school and have leave, so I'm tentative.
Anyway, I would be thrilled to travel to any luncheon/packing party, and Jennifer, I would be only too happy to carpool with you.
I would like some advice too, I am a member of the Blue Star Moms of Heart of IL, what kind of help could I bring them from us?? They try to raise funds to send care packages spring and fall each year to ANY service members names etc they are given.
I have already offered our local legion since my husband is the commander, that also goes for this group if you need a larger place to pack or run a fund raiser, was just wondering what input any of you may have. Thanks
Hi all. First off I want to apologize for my absence of late.My work has been very busy and was preparing for my sailor coming home. He was here from July 1st until July 13th, now gone for work ups for deployment early next year. Could possibly make it home for Christmas and New year, but got to hope for the best, and prepare for the worst and could have been our last visit until October next year or even longer. Was a wonderful visit, and he even did our local 4th parade.
Hi all... will send out another notice about a lunch once I look at the CORRECT calendar page of September instead of August. Silly goose
Whenever you gals decide on a day let me know. If any of the Peoria area moms wanna carpool let me know. I am willing to do that.
Pat L., It's exciting to have another mom here with the same job my son is learning! We are looking forward to visiting Charleston a couple of times while he is there. The first time will be A School graduation in December. I've heard awesome things about Charleston so I'm looking forward to visiting.
Cathymg, A Springfield Meet and Greet would be fun! If that doesn't happen I'm hoping I can make the one in Fairview Heights in September. After your son gets his PIR date there will be new subgroups set up by date and then broken down into Ship/Division. You'll find a great support team there!
The 10th or 17th would work for me also. I came to the last one, in the fall I think it was at Olive Garden. Keep me posted and would LOVE to help with a packing party!
I would love to attend something is Springfield, I am taking my son to St. Louis tomorrow and then he will leave there for the GL on Wednesday, feeling a little overwhelmed!!
