welcome Micka!! Happy to have you with us here in your ol' stomping grounds.
Welcome Micka! Enjoy catching up with everyone here in Illinois.
Just booked my room today for the meet/overnighter. Very excited about all of this. Cannot wait to see everyone.
Be careful again out there tonight since once again another winter storm has decided to pass into Illinois again. Sigh! Gotta say that I am done with the snow. Spring and summer can swing by any time now.
Hi everyone, I am from IL (but now live in AZ), all my family is still there. My husband was Navy, my older son is in the Nuke program getting ready to head to NY for his last phase before heading to the fleet. My youngest depped in on 12/12/12 and leaves Aug 12, he has an SO contract. I have been on N4M for a couple years and not sure why I never joined the IL group, being I know lots of people there.
Anyway I joined to help me keep up with friends who's kids are now in the Navy or going. I grew up in Alton, Jerseyville, and lived in Clinton for 17 yrs.
Wish i could join you in Springfield ... have fun everyone!!
Hi everyone!! Here is a link to the April 20th lunch, packing parky and overnight that you can RSVP to. http://www.navyformoms.com/events/illinois-families-luncheon-packin...
Hi Jessicas. What type of job are you looking for? Retail or do you have a specific skill set? Be sure to get yourself enrolled on the USAJOBS.Gov site. Federal jobs understand the military way of life.
Right now with the impending sequestration cuts things look a bit crappy, but still get registered on the site. People retire, jobs open up.
Awesome news Medic.
Everyone stay safe and warm over the next two days
medic mom -- great you got to talk to your sailor. That had to make your day :]
Good morning all! Once again be careful out there from Monday til Tuesday. We have another winter watch out. Let's see what it brings this time. Have a great day everyone.
Hey gals!!!! Well we made it through the "big" storm. Got about an inch up here in Peoria. A little bit of ice with it too but not a whole lot. Feel bad for all you down in the southern portions of the state. You got hit harder then we did.
Happy mom though tonite. My son called me from the sandbox and he sounds amazing. He is happy and actually enjoying it some. He doesn't like the fact that he is surrounded by sand but it is what is. He is making the best of it. I am happy happy happy right now. Haven't heard his voice in almost 2 months now and it was great to talk to him. We chat practically everyday on FB but to hear his voice made my day. I had fallen asleep early tonight and was wide awake when that phone rang. Luckily I had enough power in my cell phone to talk for a bit. Battery has quit taking a charge and I need to get a new battery for it.
Have a great day everyone.
