Buttercup's not too happy with the freezing rain and snow. No school today, and lots around us are cancelled for tomorrow already. I've baked all day -- at my leisure--- for a youth conference coming in Friday through Sunday. We'll be housing 4 young men. This is in Troy, IL, just east of St. Louis.
Stay safe out there gals. Not sure what this storm is gonna bring any of us but be careful. Hunkering down at home right now and hoping I don't have to go out in it. Hasn't started in this area yet but it is on the way.
Still don't know if I can make it. My granddaughters have a recital on the next weekend, and their pictures and practice is probably that weekend. I'm the "walking checkbook" for these things, so I might have to be there unless I can get their mother (ha) or their aunt to take them for pictures and practice. In addition, my husband was notified that his job is over at the Arsenal. Official date is March 29, but he'll use his built up vacation and fly to Texas on the 8th. The Arsenal is getting hit hard. All contractors will be gone, others furloughed and taking a 20% reduction in salary.
Oh and if CoolMom's sister does come and if anyone else wants to share a room let me know. I wouldn't mind sharing if no one else does.
CoolMom I would up for sharing a room if you don't mind. As far as I know I don't snore. LOL I am really looking forward to this.
I will be there. I live in Springfield and cant wait to meet all of you :)
Laura...sorry to hear you can't make it...but if you do find the time to come just for lunch that would wonderful!
Cool mom...excited to meet you!
I'll be there. Don't know about my sister yet. If my sister can't come, I'd be up for sharing a room with a non-snoring person. hahahahaha The restaurant sounds good also, we can walk if we are too loopy to drive. I'm really looking forward to meeting other Navy moms. I've only went to one Missouri get together.
Hi ladies. It is great that everyone will be getting together and I'm sad that I will be missing the fun!
My son is getting married on April 27th. The wedding was originally August 20th but it appears that my son will be deployed again at that time. So much for having a few months in between assignments. Oh well, needs of the Navy.
I will have to meet everyone at the next gathering and please, say a small prayer that wedding date #3, April 27th, won't have to be changed again.
