Good afternoon gals! Hope you are all having a good weekend and not getting too soaked with the rain. Just hanging out at home this weekend and enjoying a pleasant weekend off before the marching band season starts. Talked with my sailor the other day and he is such a funny kid. Asked him if he had felt any of the earthquakes going on in Southern California and he said "What earthquakes?" He had no idea that there was an earthquake. Cannot wait to hear what he thinks of earthquakes the first time he feels one. Enjoy your weekend ladies.
Attention, any Moms in the Chicago area. Please check out the "Welcome Home and Thank You" on Sept. 29 in "Events". Please come and donate a few hours of your time to spread the word about Molly's Adopt A Sailor. It's a really good time!
Angie, I read that there was a typhoon In Japan. Those pictures are scary. Glad they rode out the storm OK. I also read that riding it out at sea is not much fun either! The power of mother nature is just unbelievable.
Hey all.... Well I know how you are feeling SandySea.....one of my sailors is stationed in Okinawa and they just had a huge hurricane (they call them typhoons) hit over the weekend. My sailor was in "lockdown" in his baracks all weekend. I will be praying for everyone down south...I have been to Pensacola and it is a beautiful Base right on the Gulf. Here are some pictures of the typhoon that hit Okinawa this weekend.
The little bright white dot in the middle is Okinawa before the Typhoon hit....the HUGE blob,to the right which is the size of Texas, is the the typoon!

Ladies, I just got the word that NAS Pensacola is evacuating tomorrow. They are taking the sailors to an army or marine base in Georgia to get out of the path of Isaac. My son was supposed to graduate and be home on Wednesday for 2 weeks leave. Lots of worried mommas on the P'cola page. Praying for the safety of these and ALL our sailors and other service members.
Medic Mom -- sorry i've been away w/ my Navy kids. I see you've already decided to cancel Saturday. I'm sad it worked out that way, but perhaps i will definitely be able to be a "yes!" next time instead of leaving you hanging. Thanks for working on getting us together. Hugs, Kt
Ok so it is official that I am gonna cancel Saturday's lunch. No problem. I will check and see how my schedule goes since marching band comeptitions start in 2 weeks and go until the beginning of November. I might be able to sneak in a lunch or 2 in that time. Donna tattoos won't be involved in any way. Though I do have to let you gals know that I did get brave a couple of weeks ago and got my first tattoo. Told my corpsman about it and he loved it. We are conspiring with each other as to where and what I am gonna get next. Have a great day gals!
I'm up for a road trip! If possible, please have it on a Saturday so I can use my Marriott points to spend the night and come home on a Sunday.
Medic Mom, I am good with canceling this Saturday. We have our festival in town this weekend, and the band is performing at it.
I will watch for another one getting arranged for sure.
