Renee BC and Marine Navy Mom .  . .  THANK YOU!   I will definately check these out!  :-)

Kyle's mom,

Below is a link to the day-by-day breakdown of bc.  It may be off a day or two here and there, especially if your son is in a push group.  It helps to know what is going on to ease a mother's mind.  It is also informative; you will spend more time saying "way-to-go" and less time saying "what's that?" when he calls home.  He will be proud that you are learning to be a Navy Mom!  I hope it helps.  :)   Copy and paste into Word, change the font color to black, and print.  If I remember correctly, it's approx 15 pages long.  I had one in my purse, at work, at home on the kitchen counter, and one on my nightstand!! LOL

Thanks Dakota's Mom!  That is very helpful.   I have been writing everyday - it's my way of journaling to him.  I talk about everyday activities to keep him up on what everyone is doing, as well as - like you said - feel like I'm talking to him.  I'm really looking forward to that call in about 2 more weeks - my phone doesn't leave my side!   :-)    This site is very helpful and therapeutic in it's own right!

Hi Kyle's Mom. My son is graduating Friday so I'm just finishing the journey that you are beginning. The best coping strategy I had was to 1) pray and 2) write lots of letters. I wrote a "News from Home" newsletter each night. I included a couple pictures, local news story, Bible verse of the day and joke of the day. I followed with a letter. It was therapeutic for me and I felt like I was still conversing with him. It actually goes pretty fast but I know it is very difficult. It gets better, I promise!

Hi everyone!  Kyle's mom here . . . Lawrenceburg, IN.  Kyle left for Basic Trng on 8/9.    Ship 4 / Div 821.  Hanging in there but have had several breakdowns over the past 11 days.  The not being able to talk to him is the worst!   I try to not let my imagination go wild but it doesn't always work.   He's in training with the Spec Ops Forces - he's planning to be a Navy Diver.  Welcome any strategies to help cope!
