My son passed, too... he's a 1st Class PO!
Proud Mom of a newly selected E-6 Navy Nuke MM!
Hello fellow Hoosier moms. Im new to that term. Just moved her a year ago. Im looking to be in communication with other Navy Moms in area. We live a Terre Haute and this is some small town compared to what I was used to. (Wichita KS) Most of our friends here have small children and as of last week all three of my daughters are grown. My first born (oldest is stepdaughter so this will be our middle of the three) is an MA in Bangor Base WA.
One thing to know, new moms, is that your Recruit must open all mail in front of the RDI (Recruit Drill Instructor = "Commander"). It might embarrass your sailor if there are pet names for him/her in your letters... just FYI.
Also, remember NOT to send packages, musical cards (causes teasing), candy or gum, or a lot of photos (a few is ok). Neither can he/she have newspapers (but cutting out sports stories is fine). Hugs! k.
Awesome Ship 12, just awesome!!!
You're HAPPY??? Yuck!
Oh ship09, I remember those days.......I'm in Fort Wayne every workday........My son is now on deployment.......it's been about a year and 9 months since he was at boot camp......wait until he's done, you will be amazed at the change.......when he says yes, ma'am and yes, sir........to everyone..............you will be so proud, not that you aren't already......and make sure you go to PIR.....it's a don't miss moment!!!
Hi everyone! I'm from the Fort Wayne area. My son is in basic right now---and I got my first real letter today. He said some pretty great things--thanking me for being a good mom, etc...choked me up! He also said that he felt like quitting every day but then he prays and reminds himself that he is following God's plan for his life. Wow. What a kid. (what a man!)
Ship 12, yes, I work nights......leave my house at 11:15 PM and get home around 9:15 AM.........get to bed around 10 and up at.........well, whenever I get up LOL but try to be up by 6 or 6:30 PM
Man, is all our sailors in Virginia? LOL Well, almost......mine is on a ship right now until next month and then will be in Virginia!
