Indiana Moms & Dads just got note # 4 from our August packing party. Way to go!
Hello,
My name is Alex Hxxxxxxxxxx, I am with VAQ-141 on deployment. I just wanted to share my appreciation for all you are doing for my follow sailors and I. We all are grateful for all your support and we hope to be home soon with our families! Again thank you and God bless you!
Note # 3 (I will see if I can get the pix to copy, too.)
Ladies,
As a shop we would like to extend our extreme gratitude for what you and your group did on our behalf. My name is Jason Gxxxxx I am from Edinboro Pennsylvania , I am currently attached to VAQ-141 we are the Shodowhawks we fly the new EA-18 G Growler the newest airplane in the fleet we are the first shipboard deployed Growler squadron, our permanent duty station is Whidbey Island, Washington. We are currently forward deployed on the USS George H.W. Bush the newest carrier in the fleet. Now that I have given you the details of where your packages have made it to. We received 3 packages to our line shack which houses the most junior personnel in the squadron. So your packages have meant a little extra to those who this is there first time away from home. Packages always brighten a day because the days out here launching and recovering jets tend to feel like ground hog day. I am sure you will receive more thank you emails from more of our guys and ladies. But I wanted to be the first to say thank you on all there behalves, and to let you know that what you guys do for morale is just as important as what we do out here.
Thanks Again,
ADAN Gxxxxx
P.S. We attached a few photos one is of AOAN Blonski with 2 of our pilots and the other is of me on the flight deck just so you could see who you reached.
Note # 2
Hello,
I am stationed on board CVN 77 and deployed. I wanted to say thank you for the care package and the letter. My mother likes to keep in touch with other navy Mom’s and her E-Mail address is xxxxxxx if you are interested.
Thanks again,
John
Letter # 1 to all who were at the Indiana packing party in August with Molly's Adopt a Sailor.:
Mrs. P,
I am writing on behalf of our entire squadron to say thank you for the care package that you sent us, as well as the other packages that you and your group sent out across the world. You have no idea the sense of exhilaration it gives us opening up boxes filled with unknown deliciousnesses! I know that isn’t a word, but I thought it was appropriate.
A little about myself, I am a PR3 (Aircrew Survival Equipmentman) in VAQ-141 located out of Whidbey Island, WA. Are you familiar with the WA area? My wife and I were only there for about a month before I was shipped out on this deployment, but from what I did get to see, it is pretty amazing. I can’t wait to be back on land wherever it may be though! I have no geographical discrimination at this point! My wife and I also have two adopted puppies; Ryan is a Boxer she rescued from Fort Hood after he had been struck by a car, and Lola is a German shepherd mix that I fell in love with in Austin, TX. I miss them so much!
Well, I had better wrap it up now and get to work, but thank you so much for taking the time out to help us while we are out in the middle of the ocean. Stay safe on all your travels-it sounds like you are going to be out and about a lot in the next year or so. Drive carefully and don’t forget that you have made your sailors happy and helped to lift our spirits. I hope that you all understand how much this means to us.
Thank you,
PR3 Daniel CXXXXXXX
Someone on the Reagan Moms posted this link to a really nice newstory about the accident: http://www.news-journal.com/pittsburg/news/members-of-reynolds-fami...
REYNOLDS UPDATE (9/15/11):
I just finished speaking with the church and funeral has been set for
MONDAY, SEPT 19 at 2:00pm
Emmanuel Baptist Church, 307 Elm Street - Pittsburg, TX 75686
903-856-3411
They are still working on the arrangements for a meal after the service. The secretary will call me tomorrow letting me know if/how we can help.
----------------------------------------------------------
I also spoke with Sean's uncle. He was at work and unable to talk, but promised to call me back this evening or tomorrow. He did say that there was insurance and Sean will have some financial stability. There IS a place where monetary contributions can be sent, but he did not have that information with him. I'll get that when he calls me.
He did say that Sean is still in shock. He also told me his OWN son is a sailor, who is crushed by this because he has no brothers, so Sean and Joachim were like his brothers, "living" at each other's houses as close cousins do. His son is upset because (not being "immediate" family) he must return to ship in two days, unable to be at the funeral.
He also wants to assure everyone that Sean has a strong, supportive family and will be shepherded through the overwhelming months (years?) ahead of him. He was grateful to hear of everyone's prayers and sympathies.
----------------------------------------------------------
Please hold onto any checks or donations for just a little while longer, until we know the best place to send them. I know we want to show him how loved he is, but we also want to make this time as easy for him as possible. Thank you again for letting me help with this, and for your compassionate hearts.
Fondly, Kaye Smith
AND ANOTHER REMINDER:
Please don't let me be the only Indiana Mom who attends the Army-Navy Game!
This is going to be a really fun afternoon. I've order 100 blue and gold pom-poms for spectators, and I have Lexan drink bottles for each player. The little guys are 7-8 years old and will be thrilled to have lots of folks there to support them.
Read the note I posted just under our Indiana Moms banner and then sign up. We'll help Navy to BEAT ARMY!
