Well this will be good news to all our troops and hopefully, let them rest a little easier!! I agree...HAS been a couple crazy days!! I too will rest easier tonight, in fact, I worked last night (third shift) and only took a couple hour nap but wanted to stay up to see what happened......NOW BEDTIME!! Night!!

Yes, it's definitely a relief.....should have never gotten to this point!! My son needs to get a passport...he just found out...before he deploys next month....I just got his birth certificate to him......this alone had me very worried because if the government shut down, NO PASSPORTS!!!

Well, they just made the announcement....they have an agreement on the framework for a six month budget and hopefully will get a stop gap voted on tonight before midnight that will keep the government running and our troops paid!! It should have never went this long!!

I will also remember this when I vote next time!!

It's insane!! The senators and representatives are acting like children!! Our sailors and soldiers are the one that will pay the price of their childishness!!

I emailed both Lugar and Coats plus my local Representative and told them exactly what I thought about our troops not getting paid......our brave men and women, sacrifice so much and this is the thanks they get from our government....flood their phones and email!!

As one of my friends on facebook said, our troops need to march to the Capital, lay their weapons on the ground and tell the government they can do the fighting since they will still be paid!!

Here's the website for their telephone numbers and email addresses, let's show them how disappointed we are in them!!

My husband called both the Indiana Senators' offices in DC yesterday stating gross disapproval of what the government is doing (or not doing rather) to our troops. Disgusting.

I encourage my fellow Hoosiers to flood the telephones and be heard on our sons, daughters, husbands, and wives behalf. The Senators' numbers are:
Lugar 202- 224-4814
Coats 202-224- 5623

My kid's been underwater for two weeks now.  It's not going to be a real long cruise, but they're coming back to a couple of months of dry dock... which always makes him just the "happiest" fellow (NOT)!

I'm jealous, jealous Donnita & Lorraine!  Hugs, k.

OPSEC.  Security.  Just to remind you to be careful about posting dates associated with your sailor's movements.  We don't want anyone figuring out how and when they are moving.  Let us know if you have any questions.  If you doubt a post, you can always copy and paste it but delete any movements information.  Loose lips sink ships.  Loose tweets sink fleets.

Wow Donnita, that's a long time......I know you will be counting the days!!! I would!! Congrats!!

About a month and mine will be deployed for 7 months, we haven't seen him since early in January (I know that doesn't compare to 15 months) and plan to go down to see him at the end of this month, can't wait!! His GF is on spring break and she is going down next week!!
