Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Lot of ups and downs and tears and big smiles....as they said, rollercoaster but makes you very proud. We are all here for you gidget......this helps get you through it and not just boot camp.....boot camp and beyond!!

Gidget sweetie--we will hold your hand and be there to lean upon for this new and exciting change in life.  You will be a rollercoaster of emotions--and they are all OK!  Let us know if you have any questions in particular.  Be sure your sailor recruit's cell phone card is pre-activeated before he goes to bootcamp.

Hello everyone..I am new here. My son leaves for boot camp in just 4 days..I am very proud,and yet feeling pretty scared too.

Have a Son in Guam on the USS Houston (submariner), my youngest son in basic (Navy) he will be graduating next month so we will be going to Great Lakes.. He is also supposed to be a submariner...he wants to do a brother tour with my oldest son..

I got gas in Sturgis, MI yesterday for $3.48.....that's 21 cents cheaper than 5 & 10 miles south in Howe, IN and LaGrange, IN....so I filled up!!

Congrats to Amanda...now the work begins! That's the only thing I'm not looking forward to, the drive but I know it's going to be worth it! I wish you could have brought the warm weather too but it'll get here....not soon enough for me though! LOL

OOPS!  Forgot to mention... when you come to dinner on Monday, bring a photo of your sailor to pin on their "Heroes" bulletin board!

 

Plus there is always a 10% discount for any active or retired military!  Just bring an ID.
