OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ok. It is official. Cole was sworn in for the final time at Chicago MEPS today. We went to see the ceremony. Nice! Very proud of our young man. What a way to spend your 22nd b day. Guess he will always remember his signing date! Just waiting for "the Call" now.
Can anyone tell me more about the "adopt-a-sailor" program? We have friends and extended family in Chicago who would like to participate.

Lorraine, you're a dear to think of me, but I'm taking two cuptowels with me to the church... if I need more than that, I'll just use the hem of my dress or the sleeve of my husband's tuxedo! And enjoy having that boy of yours at home, no matter how fleeting! Hugs, k.

NDMark... I can't be at the Valparaiso gathering, but can't say if I'm happy or sad about that... I won't be there because I'll be in Bangor, watching my son's wedding! Hope ya'll have a really good time!

Yay, Donnita! Congrats to the sailor and hugs from us all! BTW, we missed you at the Westies dinner. I won't be there on Nov 15, because I'm in Bangor. So just like I told Mark, don't know whether to be glad or sad!

NOW HEAR THIS...

In case ya'll (yes, that's a real word) haven't noticed, I started a new "discussion" above in the Forums area. There, you can find a map I've created indicating the towns where members of Indiana Moms are located.

If you click on a marker, you'll see the member's name and a link to his/her N4M page, making it easier to get in touch with other members in your area.

Please know that I do not have access to anyone's physical address ! I simply placed markers in the center of whatever town a member has given on his/her personal page.

If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, I'm happy to hear them. Thanks for being such a great group of folks. I hear of the drama that other administrators have to deal with and always think, "Gosh, I'm so lucky!"

Hugs!
