Oh, no I misled you! YES, they'll get another chance to pass, after some review over what they did wrong. I bet they all make it! Thanks, k.

I was told by our recruit that only 60 out of the 88 made it. I just took it that these others would have to redo their battlestations at another time. Maybe she meant that the other 28 had just been shipped home? I liked the first idea better.

What did you hear about Div 331, joj? I've never heard of a Div "failing" before... or did something else happen? Thanks, k.

Sounds like Battlestations didn't go very well for many of the sailors in Div 331. Am so sorry for those sailors and their families and that their next chance goes so much better.

My daughter is to leave for boot camp in November. We are in Southern Indiana, her recruiter is out of Columbus. Very proud of my daughter but also very much mom.

My sailor is back from the sea! The sub ALABAMA pulled into port today at about 3:45pm. And son is happy that he doesn't have first watch tonight! We'll all be together in about six weeks for his wedding and then the first Thanksgiving dinner we've had together in four years!! Happy, happy... k.

SPECIAL ALERT! The singing group 4 TROOPS will have one appearance in Indianapolis on November 10 (Wednesday)! They'll be at the Murat Theatre (click here for ticket info).

If you're not familiar with this group, here's a little bio (CBS-TV):

4TROOPS is made up of vets of the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars: Former Capt. Meredith Melcher, Staff Sgt. (Ret.) Ron Henry, former Sgt. David Clemo, and former Sgt. Daniel Jens. The band performed a hit made famous by Rascal Flatts, "Bless the Broken Road," as well as "Courtesy of the Red White & Blue" (written by country singer Toby Keith).

Their self-titled debut album, which was just released, includes a mix of patriotic and uplifting pop and country songs. The quartet, who all share a passion for singing, took part in various Army music programs such as "Military Idol" and the "Army Soldiers Show."

Not only does 4TROOPS rock out in honor of its fellow service men and women, it sheds light on the needs of veterans and their families. Fifty cents from every CD that 4TROOPS sells will go to help organizations aiding veterans of the armed forces (click here to buy one), including The American Legion, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) and the USO.

Hear their music and learn more at their website: www.4troopsmusic.com

Since it's a week-night, I don't think we can organize a big group. But, let me know if you'll attend and we can meet for dinner somewhere. If any of you "out-of-towners" want to have a place to freshen up or crash for the night, I'll be happy to coordinate that, too! Let me know if you have questions... k.
