JJ4Navy, TwoForTheNavy, MrsB - No worries, I never heard of Blue Star Mothers either until my ex-SIL gave me her Blue Star Flag to hang since her son's contract with the Army was almost up. I still didn't know anything about it until someone at church mentioned I should joined the chapter.
Care Package packing day was a success. We managed to pack 315 boxes ready to be shipped. If you know of anyone with an APO or FPO address, send me a private message with their address. BSM will be happy to send them a care package.

Hello TwoForTheNavy! Where do you live?
Hello cmcmom! Thanks for the nice welcome! Yes, I would be very interested in the Blue Star Mother's organization-that's right up my alley! I love doing things like that!! I wish I could help this saturday but will be in GL at my son's PIR-woohoo!!! Please do send me information, I look forward to helping out!
Hi NavyMomJeq! Nice to meet you! I love Temecula! It's grown so much since we moved here in 97. Funny, we also used to live in Bremerton!!! Before my sailor or his older sister were even born! I love the Northwest and we plan to move to Bend, OR in 8 or 10 years and get the heck out of California! Too hot here and way too many people. Looking for a quieter life. This whole Navy adventure has been such an exciting ride. Glad to meet you!
haha mrsb, I did the same thing about 30 years ago, I was driving on I-15 and as we were going through Victorville, I swore I would never live in the desert. Less than two years later I got married and moved to Apple Valley!
We live in Temecula now. Our son has been in for almost 2 years already! Just seems like we were all excited about PIR too. Now he's stationed up in Washington and deployed in Bahrain. He and his wife are expecting our 2nd grandchild in Nov so we're hoping he makes it home in time or shortly after.
Welcome to the group!
