cbc mom I am unable to attend the meeting tonight. I am leaving town for my Newphew's wedding. Happy to say my daughter will be in attendance then come home with me for a week, she will be deploying soon :(. But, I put it on the calendar for next month.

JJ4Navy, TwoForTheNavy, MrsB - No worries, I never heard of Blue Star Mothers either until my ex-SIL gave me her Blue Star Flag to hang since her son's contract with the Army was almost up.  I still didn't know anything about it until someone at church mentioned I should joined the chapter.

Care Package packing day was a success.  We managed to pack 315 boxes ready to be shipped.  If you know of anyone with an APO or FPO address, send me a private message with their address.  BSM will be happy to send them a care package.

The BSM (Blue Star Mother) is having their monthly business meeting tomorrow (Monday).  Meeting starts at 7 but folks get there by 6:30 if they want to eat.  Please come and check it out if you can.  Address is 1275 Magnolia Ave., Ste 103, Corona, 92879     The office is between a salon shop and Shamrock's restaurant.  Meeting is open to all Blue Star Mothers (yes that is everyone here on this group).  Guest speaker is Gunny representing the SoCal Patriotic Guards.

Also, here is the website if you would like to check it out:   www.bluestarmothershome.org

cbc mom....thx for the welcome!  My mother in law just asked me about the Blue Star group!  I'm so happy to read about it here.  I've never heard of it so I'm definitely going to check it out today!  I'm looking forward to connecting with other moms in the area.  Thanks for sharing!  Have a wonderful day!!!

Hello TwoForTheNavy!  Where do you live?

Hi cmcmom I too am a Navy Inland Empire mom. Both my daughter and son are in the Navy. My daughter is an officer stationed in Norfolk and my son is finishing up A school in Texas, then he heads for a shore duty in Maryland.
I would be interested in the Blue Star group and would like info on it. I'm preparing to leave town for a wedding (my daughter will be there, gets leave before deployment!) so I cannot help this weekend but I can help out for other functions.
Welcome new Inland Empire Navy moms and congratulations to your sailors!

Hello cmcmom!  Thanks for the nice welcome!  Yes, I would be very interested in the Blue Star Mother's organization-that's right up my alley!  I love doing things like that!!  I wish I could help this saturday but will be in GL at my son's PIR-woohoo!!!  Please do send me information, I look forward to helping out!

Welcome MrsB and JJ4Navy! Enjoy PIR, make sure you attend Sarge's Meet & Great, and especially enjoy your time with your sailor.

Darsete normally has a monthly (or was it quarterly) get-together but with everyone's schedule, it's been hard to all meet up.

Rancho/Chino...not too far from me. I'm in Norco. Hubby and I grew up in Westminster/Midway City but have since moved to Corona/Norco.

Also when you get a chance, check out the Blue Star Mother's organizaiton. The closest chapter is in Corona and meets once a month. I've been a member now for a year and the organization does a lot of fundraiser, activities for our veterans as well as for our active duties. We also have a Welcome Home group that goes to the airport when our soldiers come home (even if its for a visit). This Saturday, we are getting together to box up 200 care packages. Gathering is in the Corona office. Let me know if you're interested and I can send the info
.

Hi NavyMomJeq!  Nice to meet you! I love Temecula!  It's grown so much since we moved here in 97.  Funny, we also used to live in Bremerton!!!  Before my sailor or his older sister were even born!  I love the Northwest and we plan to move to Bend, OR in 8 or 10 years and get the heck out of California!  Too hot here and way too many people.  Looking for a quieter life.  This whole Navy adventure has been such an exciting ride.  Glad to meet you!

haha mrsb, I did the same thing about 30 years ago, I was driving on I-15 and as we were going through Victorville, I swore I would never live in the desert. Less than two years later I got married and moved to Apple Valley!

We live in Temecula now. Our son has been in for almost 2 years already! Just seems like we were all excited about PIR too. Now he's stationed up in Washington and deployed in Bahrain. He and his wife are expecting our 2nd grandchild in Nov so we're hoping he makes it home in time or shortly after.

Welcome to the group!
