HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE U.S. NAVY TODAY!!!

Any idea when we want to meet? I'm probably leaving to become a part-time Texas Navy mom around Thanksgiving. I'll be back around Christmas, then gone again till spring. Come visit me!

Hey Fellow Iowa Moms,
Just a note to say that we got our first phone call from our recruit and he's doing great! He was put in an honor division- not sure what that means but we are proud of him! He's doing Iowa proud.

I thought it might be fun to combine a couple important missions--meeting each other and shopping!

Do you think we could have a gathering this fall? I wondered if you moms would like to meet at the Amanas or at the Outlet Mall at the Williamsburg exit?

I can't get to the steak fry, but I am honored to be a guardian on the Honor Flight out of Davenport/Moline on November 8. It will be my third flight and have been given the job of bus captain this time--a field trip, just with bigger kids! What's really cool is that my sailor also is going as a guardian on this flight.

This isn't a Navy event, but the 18th there's a great event in Davenport's Centennial Park. Maybe a great way to spend a Saturday after sending a son to boot camp! The Celtic Festival and HIghland Games is FREE this year. The All Vets Memorial Association will have a booth with very affordable family food, so come support them. You can feed the kids with $1 hot dogs!
