LOL--I live just across the river from Iowa, grew up in Iowa, insisted that my children would be born in Iowa to give them a good start! I own Hawkeye stuff, used to decorate my classroom in Hawkeye stuff even though I taught in Illinois! Your husband is SO right! My husband who was born, raised, and still lives (with me, of course) in Rock Island says he's a fan of anyone playing the Hawks. 29 years and I still can't get him to change that! Who wants to say they're from Illinois? ugh.

Just looked out the window and then checked the paper. We got 3 inches.

The brunch is planned for Saturday, but I was driving to grinnell on Friday. I didn't want to confuse anyone!

My mom called me this morning and told me not to come to Grinnell tomorrow because of the snow predictions. I hate to miss the brunch, but I'm probably not going to get there. She said DM is supposed to get 8-12 inches! So don't do anything risky; I hope it's not too bad that some of you can't get there, but we can plan something for better weather.

Connie, I met with some Chicago moms on Thursday night. Three of them have new sailors at Goose Creek, two male and one female. I have their emails, so if you'd like to be in contact with them, email me at mldrcd@mchsi.com or you can check out the Chicago Moms and follow them to their profiles.

We just got home from the Chicago Moms get together tonight. Five of us moms plus my husband (so I wouldn't have to drive home alone late at night) and our sailor son. We had a really good time meeting and talking about our kids. I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day now!

I'll start a discussion above so people will see it about our brunch.

Michelle, It's on a Saturday. Can't you come? I don't want to leave you out!

It's in Grinnell east of Newton. You can take I-80, then north on 146 to 6th St. (Sorry, Diane, but I was on the computer!)

Diane, Is that close to the Fareway? I put it on the calendar. I know it will be fun.
