LOL...guess I'm making up for missed time this morning on this site! Feeling encouraged and much better today. I continue to write (he is going to hit the jackpot on first mail call) and do silly things like call his cell phone to hear his voice on the message. I even check the weather forecast every day - it's snowing there today and the high's for the next 10 days will only be in the 20's. Hope my southern boy is adapting well to that cold weather!

Penny and Kathy - did you checkout JessicaB's link (page 2 here) to another group with photo's? There is one of the USS Kearsarge where our boys are!

We still haven't gotten the letter either (left on 23rd). Maybe the Thanksgiving holidays have slowed things down (office staff and postal service).

thanks jessicaB i was wondering how to address the letters
Comment by Julie*Ship7*Div55 on December 3, 2010 at 10:26pm
Actually, the "letter" is just the typed Navy official letter telling you how things work, the PIR date, etc. with a few brochures in it. The form letter has a few lines on the bottom where your recruit can write a personal note. They're not actually letters yet. If your recruit puts the wrong people in for PIR, don't freak. They can change that later. Actually, my son & I went to his friend's PIR in Sept, and only he was on the list, but they extra people in because there were only 9 divisions graduating. From what I've heard, the only time more than 4 is a problem is if there are a full number of divisions. There are upper and lower bleachers at the grad, and the upper one was barely populated. Off topic, sorry
