For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi bonlia, that is a hard question. the longest I have gone without seeing her was 19 months, but that was when she was in the middle east. since she's been in Japan....she's on the admiral's staff and when they move they us the Uss BR so the tricky part is is getting her in port or knowing where she is. we planned to visit for the holidays for 4 minths, then she calls the day before we left to say they might be going out! panick, but it all worked out and we got to see her. so, i guess my question would be is he on shore duty or sea? also they get days off but depending what their job is and what is going on.....my daughter had to go in on her day off because they called a special-ops meeting. then her relief was stuck in the US on leave, the airports were closed do to weather so she had to work a couple days of her leave. so I guess there is no right answer, most see their kids once or twice a year, i think. Me I'm happy if I see her once a year. get skype!

Hi Blondie - it's nice to meet you! He's with a detachment that supports the GW, so when she goes on cruise he does too. Except he may or may not be on her at any given time. How long has your daughter been in the Navy? We have Skype and we use it for sure and it is better than not having it, but, not as good as having him right here at home. Some times I wonder if I will ever get used to his being so far away.

Hi Cindy - it's nice to meet you! He is an Aviation Electronics Tech. Maybe our sons have bumped into each other, but, since they have completely different jobs, maybe not.

Hi and Welcome
I am a mom on the Japan site. My sailor has been inJapan for over 2 years and he has been home only once.
Come on the site and visit. There are Moms who have sailors posted all over Japan and we share and laugh and cyber hug. But we are there for each other when a problem arrises to find answers. I see you met Blondie :) She's a love

T-Lynn, sometimes I swear I'm brain dead! I get it - this is the site and you all get together for a visit :} Please forgive me for being so dense. My son just went back to Japan - we hadn't seen him for 18 months and now he's gone again and most all my thoughts are muddled because of it.

Bonlia, My g'daughter is at Atsugi as well. She is with VAQ 136 and just came home for a visit. This is the first time I have seen her in over two years but then, I have to share her with her Mom and with her Dad. This is my turn so I am having fun.
