Kim, yes they do wait. There's a time period for each paygrade before they can attempt the next one. In the meantime, they can do their PQR courses. except I don't think they're still called PQR!

AntiM, my son was promoted last cycle. Do they have to wait before taking the next test?

I hope things get better Blondie and I hope you feel better T-Lynn.

I'm back . Doing better - at least head pain is gone. But ears are ringing up a storm. Saw on the TV that we havea cold front coming in - maybe that is causing it. Funny the weather today - gorious! I even had teh windows open for hours. The house is smelling so fresh. Hope you all got to do the same.

Thank you Kim for teh website - so unquie to watch the drill team. And yes, teh Laundry Fairy is back. I still have 5 more loads.

Off to make a simple dinner again. Tuna Casserole - can't mess that up. And last night's experiement turned out so good - there were no left overs :). Campbells soups are so great. I made a chicken pot pie mixture on top of the stove adn instead of potatoes - I used rice. Guess I need to experiement more.

talk soon all TLynn

Good Morning
Around 10:30 Pm the first down pour of rain happened. With one flash of lightning. It lasted about 3 minutes. Guest this was a test run. Mother Nature must being doing checks on all systems for Spring. \

But I am having a morning and not even 2 cups of coffee is helping. The air pressure must be strong. I have a very heavy feeling at the top of my head adn my ears are at a very high pitch ring. SO lound - Mom asked me to tone down. So that means a storm is coming. And the turtle is hiding. Be glad when it gets here - then maybe wearing my glasses will not hurt.

You all havea good morning - I'll chat later.
Keep shairing AntiM - - love the education about the testing. And as soon as I know how he id - I'll be bragging. Hugs all Tlynn

Kim, LOL, I meant I liked Vista better than 7 because I'd gotten used to it. I'm just frustrated because I am trying to get my new laptop the way I like it, and IE keeps blocking other browsers such as Mozilla and Google Chrome. Might not be a feature of 7 to annoy me, but I tend to lump it all together.

Funny, I used to be an ET, but the software has far outstripped my initial training.

They should all take the exams if they are eligible this cycle. While the tests do not repeat exactly, you get points for trying at the very leaast. And yeah, you can be a 4.0 sailor and ace the test, and if they only advance a few, you might not make it.

Our US Navy Ceremonial Guard Silent Drill Team was invited to compete in in Norway . The Navy competed against military units from all over NATO and won first place. Once you see the video you'll understand why they won.

So glad you new moms found this website before your children ship out. I wasn't so lucky. Ask questions, I am sure there is a ton of stuff we forgot.

Good luck to all taking the test this month. I have no idea if my son is taking it this time. Anti M's laymen terms: test points + award points + points for taking test + points for service + + + = total score. So if there is 5 spots open for their rank/rate then only the top 5 total score get advanced. That's all folks. LOL. Sorry AntiM, you said it better.

TLynn, all laundry is done. Take the laundry fairy back. Thank you (sarcasm). One son back and the other leaving Saturday.

Mark, very good looking young men. I am glad that you got to spend so much time with your son. I relate to his circumstance. When we moved here fro(1990), I was mixed up with what was home. I loved going to Toronto for all the family and friends, but it was great to get back to the routine and new friends here. Sorry all but, I still cheered for the Canada hockey teams. Both won. (men favorite was Canada and womans favorite was USA). I grew up in a hockey and figure skating home, so...great olympics and ...Tom Brokov thanked Canada for the olympics and Tim Hortons coffee. LOL.

I saw a question about contacting the ship. Find the Ombudsman.

AntiM, you like Vista?????? I'm sorry, you are the expert on the Navy but now you are in my area. LOL. Vista sucks.

Sometimes they can come home first. This depends on a few things, such as how many days of leave they have on the books. Did he use any at Christmas? Then he won't have many available to him. In some instances they let them borrow forward, but I really do not recommend that choice. Also, he will have to know his report date and how many travel days he has been given. If he wants to change his route to go home, he has to talk to PSD ASAP.

T-Lynn, yeah the Navy tests are updated constantly. Simple format, one right answer, and one wrong answer, and two answers which are almost right. Once you know this, it makes it easier. Most of the tests is specific to their rate, part is military questions (leadership, history). They are required to complete courses beforehand so they do get study time in.

I like the netbook, but I know it doesn't have the power of the laptops, and no dvd/cd reader. So far so good. The new laptop is very powerful, but I'm not certain I like Windows 7. I just got used to Vista! Adjusting to new things is always a bit of a hassle.

I'm good, chilled today. How are you doing? Do you have your rain yet?

Thank you for the compliement NDM. Really, plastic surgeries ? Would have never known. Don't worry, I won't tell your secret safe with me.

Ah - no Anti M - ( have good laugh now ) - I thought the same old test would be given. I still think civilian testing in schools. My father taught science and each of the books chapters had questions he sellected and they stayed the same. So I figured it would be the same in the Navy. The only place I had tests that were unusaly - college Abnormal Pyschology. All essay. One question took me 3 and half pages to answer. I got an A out of that class. It was so easy. I felt like I just fit in.

Carol - I need to read up more on sailor's base too. my hubby does.

Oh - forgot Anti M - even though you have to get to know that key board - do you like the new laptop you have? ANd how are you doing?

I have to leave and finsih teh dinner. I am creating again.. Let you know how the experiement turns out. Hugs all TLynn
PS Do any of you watch NCIS? The reason I ask - my sailor mentioned that an agent was on board this time for the tour. Is that normal?
