Anita, I would love to send a card. Mark, what a great experience for your son.
Does anyone know if you need a passport if the connection is in Korea? My son has still not gotten his passport and that was the best flight that I could find.

Hi Friends :)
A beautiful day here too. Just like yesterday - in the 70's Oh - to be able to hang the clothes out again. I did enjoy doing that. But can;t anymore - with a 4 lane next to the back yard - the clothes had that not so lovely car smell. Mark - I forgot you have a son in Greece too. Do your sons get a chance to come home at the same time? Carol so exciting - 11 days. And how nice - he WANTS to have a picture in his uniform with you. My son made a promise to his Grandmother - to be in uniform for her. Well at least I'll get a picture. And I hope you both just a speical time together. My son took me out for coffee and pie. Just the us two :). Thanks for the information Kim. I agree. Well off for some tea and honey - my allergies are a little botherssme from raking/mulching leaves. Have a wonderful day friends TLynn PS I almost forgot: so far the most answers I recieved about the Christmas Lights - put them up in nice weather and then turn them on the day after Thanksgiving. Naturally there are some people who just dance to a different beat of a drum:
1. get them up and leave them up all year
2. use only red/white/and blue lights and leave them up all year
3. hubby getting NEW lights - LEDs and is ready to compete with the movie "Christmas Vacation"
4. And one Navy Mom with the aide of the nieghbors plan to decroate her daughter's home. Becasue her daughter is so stirct on how to place everything - Light connections, where the yard pieces should be placed, etc - that Mom and friends plan to put up different types/styles of lights mixed together - yard pieces to make Jeff Foxworthy envious. I asked her to put the pictures on the sites for us too see. The reason for this joke - becasue her daughter was complaining about other people decorate
With weather being nice here too - I better nag - I mean suggest to my hubby to ours up. Talk soon TLynn

I looked up treason: "In law, treason is the crime that covers some of the more serious acts of disloyalty to one's sovereign or nation". I would love for congress to pass a law that convicts anyone of treason for a terrorist act. I remember Oklahoma and 911. Whether it is Americans or foreigners committing acts against our nation or military, it should be a terrorist act.
I haven't been around for awhile but I have read up on the posts. Navy Dad, my youngest is at Penn State and they lost... so all is not great. ( I don't watch it, but he has a student season ticket)

thanks - got to start moving around - I am stiff from using the yard vac. That machine was not self propelled and I am sore. But the leaves are all bagged!

Anti M - I appreciate the medical records lesson. And Val- 35 days !!!!!!
I forgot my manners - everyone do have a wonderful evening. It is in the upper 60s here - fresh cool and gentle breeze. Windows are open and enjoying this moment of quite Indian Summer. Wish the same to all :). TLynn ps - thanks for letting me bend your ears.

Thanks Val - your words are comforting. Mark - you are correct again - it is tragic if he needed counciling himself - But I am having a hard time with this - my gut doesn't feel he was insane. Something is not right here. I just heard the 13 names. At that point - they were not news - they were real. I asked once and I hope someone will answer: If the shooter is found to be sane - is his act of killing treason? Trust among Soldiers was broken. TLynn

A sailor can check out their medical record, although some bases are tight-fisted with them. Then they just have to find a copy machine. I'd suggest it, (although I've lost my copies< LOL.)

The medical record is of utmost importance after separation/retirement, as the VA reviews the record and bases care and disability based on what is in the record. Surprising how many service folks don't pursue what is available to them through the VA. I get a small disability payment from the VA. Small being the key word!

Is it at least a good idea to have a copy Anti M?
How is everyone doing too?
Now I have to change the subject. Saw on TV today a news station was showing off HomeDepot and the talk was Christmas lights. Naturally around the breakfast table and yes the coffee was flowing through our vienns - aka awake! Anyway - a questions came up - when is it the right time to put up Christmas lIghts? A. When the weather permitts? B. Weekend of Thanks giving when you have all the realtives trapped to give a helping hand? C. The males of the hosue do it the day after Thanks giving and the women take the moeny and start and finsish the Christmas shopping? Answers please. TLynn
