Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I've been browsing the MWR site. There's a Costco in Yokohama! Gasp. How things have changed. And the restaurant over by the Lodge is now a Chili's. Well, not everything is an improvement, LOL (I have enough food allergies I usually can't eat at a Chilis).

I went all over the place in Japan by myself. I was actually in more danger near my apartment, because I'd managed to find a bad neighborhood just two blocks from one of the bar districts. More danger from the Americans than the Japanese, sadly. I was safer wandering Roppongi (nightclub district) in Tokyo! The second time I was stationed in Yoko, I knew to find a nice little house in a neighborhood with no businesses nearby.
I loved going to Kamakura, one of the ancient capitols of Japan, it is a very short train ride from Yokosuka. There's all sorts of temples and shrines there, and the famous Dia-buhtsu, the Great Buddha. I did go on a lot of MWR trips at first, but I was there twelve years and ended up exploring on my own. When hubby got a Harley, we really saw a lot of Hakone (near Mt. Fuji), Izo and Chiba. Fun! There's pics of us on Mt. Fuji in my photos.

Great pic of Josh ... ah, Halloween. Cool costume. Yes, our entire workshop would dress up for parties. Thanks for sharing.
Hubby has a version of adult ADD... he drinks coffee to go to sleep. Has a form of dyslexia too, but tests off the charts when given alternative IQ tests. I think a lot of bored kids are non-traditionally smart.

He is an OS on the USS Curtis Wilbur and he really likes his job. He first served on the USS Ronald Reagan. He was on the Carrier from the day of its start. He is a Plank Owner on the USS Ronald Reagan. He is very proud of his service in the Navy and he is hoping to make a career out of it. He says that as long as things go the way they have been, then he will continue to reenlist every 4 to 6 years.

Yes he is renting the house by himself. He is an E5. He will have the house for about 2 more months. He will then he giving it up to come back to the States for his next duty.

Julie, I made my travel plans through priceline.com but you can also use expedia.com or travelocity.com. I went out and checked all for the lowest prices. I did not have to stay in a hotel because my son is renting a house in Japan so I got to stay with him and it was absolutely wonderful. Like I said as soon as I figure out how to put pictures on here, I will do so.

There are times when I miss a call from my son and like you I play it over and over again. No you are not crazy because if you were, then so would a lot of other people. As soon as I figure out how to add pictures, I will do so. I have some wonderful pictures of Japan.
