T, sending you a lot of healing thoughts, tooth pain is no fun!

Turns out I have tendonitis in my foot, which is why it is so painful.  I get to wear a tight brace and "stay off my foot".  Yep.

HI

Conor is one smart lad! I agree - you stay home Blondie. Keep us posted on Blondie Jr.  Really 7 pounds? Crazy.  But her helping you find a movie and have a glass of wine all by phone - hey that is totally normal?

Yippee Miss Beeped IN. And howdy - did you ever! I got tired just reading about the move. But how wonderful and very exciting for her. Congrats to her.  So this one friend showed up to help. And her father and brother likes him. This sounds interesting :). Its always nice for a girl to have her dad and brother like the guy that she might be dating? You leaving out some gossip Miss? Or just waiting to share some news later?

Well, I need to get off. I sat her as long as I could. I will have  root canal this Thursday. You bet this is a surprise. I honestly thought the tooth was reacting to ice cream, but yesterday the pain was constant and when in and found that the tooth was dieing. Wish it would die quietly. So the pain med is loosing its power. I'll check in after that let you know I am ok.

Wish all a great week hugs

Hello ladies!

Have been reading all of your posts, but haven't had much time lately to update... so here goes...

My daughter started her new job yesterday!  Thank you to all of you who prayed for her during her job search.   She is working for a company who supplies parts to Nissan.  She will also be in the Nissan plant 3 to 4 times a week, trouble shooting any problems they are having.  She is so excited!  We moved her this past weekend to Ridgeland, MS, which is about 4 hours from us.  We have her all set up in her apartment, and she was was excited to start this new chapter in her life.  She is ready to find her a church to get plugged in.  The really nice thing about this move,  is that she spent all last summer in Jackson, MS (same area) doing Mission Fuge, so she already has some friends in that area.   One of her friends showed up to help us unload at her new apt., and he was a welcomed sight for my hubby, my son, and myself! I told her that every load he carried up those stairs was one less that I had to do! LOL!   Her Dad and brother was so happy to have him help get her sofa up those stairs.  They were both really dreading that.   We made it through the move, but it was really HOT!  I think it was about 96 that day with at least 96 % humidity!  I think I should have lost at least 10 lbs, but probably not!  LOL!   She met 2 of her neighbors and thinks she is going to be really happy there.   We spent the night with her Sat. night to help her get everything set up. Our son brought the truck and trailer back to our house, as we had no where to park that.  We were so happy that we had him to help us with this move.  I told hubby we are getting too old to do this.  We were pretty exhausted Sunday night when we finally made it home.  We got home around 4:15, unloaded my vehicle, then got in hubby's truck and carried the trailer back to my sister's and brother-in-law's, which was another hour drive to their house in TN.  We didn't get back home until around 7:00.  I didn't want to get up yesterday, but was thankful that I was able to get up!

Our daughter said yesterday, "that she was going to have to go to work on Monday to get some rest"!  We just cracked up, she said well, I have heard you and Dad say that all my life, and now I can say it since I am joining the working force!   It is true, I did have to come back to work to get some rest, but we busy all day long!  I went home and spent 2 hours watering plants, and for me that is my "quiet time".  So that helped a lot.  Now just to get caught back up at home.... always so much to do, and never enough hours in the day.

Take care, and know that I when I read the prayer requests, I do pray for each of you!

Try to stay cool!

HI :), Love the chatter ! Please keep jumping in the water and sharing .

Oh Maggs - beep beep I am here :)

Welcome Aboard new Moms !!!! you have just started your Emotional Roller Coaster Ride and "HANG ON " it will get real exciting at times. And we are right beside you.

AS already stated - GET those pass ports ! The US cell phones do not work in Japan. Get ones in Japan. The only other item I would suggest is: when packing to go to Japan - pack those LONG JOHNS ! Several too. Some places in Japan do not need them - BUT like in Sasabo - oh yes they do ! And the NEX will run out and in the Japan store, ex-large is NOT ex-large for US sizes. My sailor called home - begging for us to get him his long johns. We sent three pairs and luckily he got them in a week. Must have had an angel in the post office that week.

Anti M - I was hoping your foot was better. Hope this will not be a problem with you going to Burn.

Kim - good to hear from you. Need to post some grand baby pics please.

Ok - Miss - Drama - BADma - Joshmom and others BEEP IN.  My gossip tank is low. OH - Blondie what you  up too?

Need to get along - another bad storm passing through. this is the third one this week. take care hugs

There are some enlistment and re-enlistment bonuses that would require the sailor to complete all training (and schools) for the rate.  That would be in their enlistment/re-enlistment contract.

Comment by Anti M on July 17, 2015 at 10:58am

They do not get extra pay for attending schools.  What is possible are benefits and allowances, and special pay.  Special pay can include sea pay, hazardous duty pay, sub pay, and so on.  Allowances would be the annual uniform allowance, BAH/OHA housing if they are eligible, BAS (food if they live off base), and COLA (cost of living).  Benefits include medical, being housed and fed, access to the many base facilities (MWR, theaters, gym, commissary),   TA (tuition assistance), GI Bill, the savings plans, free training and classes at the Fleet and Family Services, free counseling, layettes for new babies, all the different types of leave ..... and a lot more.

Drew7062 Pay is based on time and rank.  The school they must attend after Basic depends on their rate.  What is your son's rate?
