While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the new moms! Doreen - my son just left Yokosuka last month. He'd been there 2 1/2 years and really enjoyed it. Now he's on his journey back to the states - yeah me!

It's been raining cats & dogs here.....so much I think I'm starting to mold! Tropical Storm Bill has been dumping on us and I live in Missouri...what's up with that? Oh well, can't doing anything about it....we'll dry out eventually!

Today I have a day off - Older son is home and watching his son. This is funny. And he is making dinner. I was told it is the frozen pizza dinner night. Well, at least he is cooking and cleaning up. I finally get to do my laundry and scout work.

He related something to me regarding the power of social media. I recently went on our sailor's ship's FB page that they had not been doing many postings since their previous information coord. was re-assigned because my sailor is not a great communicator (as many of us have commented on). Well..... this resulted in him being called out by the captain during their All Hands meeting. Basely the captain broadcasted to the entire ship "["Petty Officer "last name", call your mother!" ]

Well, my gf from Maryland and I have had a great time catching up on things. WE laughed hugged - and naturally gossiped! She decided to reopen her past feelings about her ex - who hired a guy to shoot her for insurance moneis. That was 20 + years ago, but she could not share all about it - until now. But what really made it wonderful - was how she could now talk without anger - fear - or wanting revenge. She just talked and had so much control and confidence! She is her own person now . This was good to see/hear.

Maggs- Angel really has a temper. How scared that little kitten must have been. But I bet soon they will be friends.

What awesome pictures you take! The hummingbird is unbelievable. Please submit them to Birds and Bloom . They have monthly contest and you would win hands down!

You try to tell these young people to do things decent and in order but you know how that goes. Her counselor is trying to help her get new orders so I will keep you posted. So now when she has duty it's during the day because she is not attached to a ship at this time. She was on the Lincoln. I'm praying that they change them because God knows I love my grand baby but I'm not ready to start all over again with a baby!!! But if I have to I will.

Comment by Kim on June 13, 2015 at 3:12pm: Clamon, My sailor longest underway (out to sea) in Japan was 3 months. He had a spring and fall patrol that where 3 months. However, he constantly had shorter patrols or exercises. Once for several months to Australia. He was out to sea a lot more than he was in port. Is she a single mom? I didn't see that.

Blondie, I love the pictures. I meant for you daughter to cross rate to NC (navy counselor). That is what the girl did and that is why she is permanently stationed at home.

I need some prayers. My 90 year old dad is in the hospital. He has a brain bleed. He is awake, but sleeping a lot. They are still accessing the situation, so not an emergency. They told us today that his aortic valve is critical. He lives alone, refuses to use a cane. They think he has had fainting spells. We have been gently pushing him to go into assisted living. But his 92 year old girlfriend is pushing for him to stay at the condo (different apartments). This is hard on him and I hate being so far away. My sister and brother are near him.
